Went on the hunt for one today, and luckily for me I have a good friend who owns a local gun shop. So tomorrow, Ill be putting nearly the whole cost of the rifle down to get it ordered. My PSU just found its home lol

Agreed, only new M16/M4 I ever got issued was an FN, all the other Colts I was ever issued were never as well put together

I have only fondled the FN M4(civilian version). If the M16 clone is built as good, and I am sure it is, you will be a happy camper.

Im not an M4 guy, never have been, my last issue rifle was a Colt M4 back in 2009, and in the MP unit I was in previous to that we had FN M16A2's and I wouldve traded the M4 everyday for that A2 lol

I would expect an MP to say something crazy like that

Is what it is, was issued the A2 in the Marine Corps, was used to it, went to the guard had the A2 as an MP, then re-classed as field artillery and got the M4, just didnt ever really get accustomed to it.

The A2 looks better to me.

I love the looks of the 20" AR's. I really love the old slickside M-16's with triangle handguards. I grew up seeing that rifle on tv, to me it was a thing of beauty.

You need to swap the uppers on that A1 and the carbine beneath it, Short Fuse

Heck your right. I hadn't even noticed the absense of the shell deflector on the lower one. I built them at different times the lower one came after the A1 and with both of them I was having trouble finding A1 uppers. No one produces them anymore that I could find besides Nodak. Good catch on that , I guess I know what I will be doing sunday.

They just flat out rock.. I'm a carry handle guy and have several builds in the works now.. I like the M16 and the A1 receivers the best...

Cool factor, mostly. I handled a used one at a Fayetteville gun show last year. Guy was walking around with it. Coulda had it for a few hundred under new. It is a really neat gun, and if you like that configuration, it would be hard to find a better quality piece. I imagine it might appeal to Marines who carry/carried one.

Familiarity, have carried an AR in some fashion for the last twenty years, either in a military capacity or as an L.E.O. COOL FACTOR is strictly secondary

Hell yeah! I know you've been fondling her, how does that black gal look with the lights on?
