And yes, I was followed around during my first trips.
It was funny to see someone talk with the taxi driver after he dropped me off. The guy didn’t look very happy.
I think they backed off a bit afrer the first ones, but I know they were around, usually during the weekend.

Though I get connection requests from China still on LinkedIn. Fronting as financial or fashion crap. Catfish profile pix that belong on a dating app rather than a business networking site. I ignore all connection requests from foreigners and those outside my engineering discipline.

Chinese citizens are only allowed to attend gov't approve and monitored churches. These churches must put Mao, the CCP, and Ping pong Pooh Bear above God.
There is no real catholic Church in China either.
House churches are banned, too.
The kicker, the dishonest, IP Stealing CTo of the company I used to work for claimed to be not just a Christian, but a Christian pastor. The dude has zero self awareness. They tried to recruit me back 3 times. Each time I said I would never work for such dishonest and dishonorable people again.

FWIW, they have already censored content they do not like, and this includes "Firearm Content" and now they are complaining that this site has turned into a Flipper Site.

So you post a snapshot and a meme as evidence of what exactly? I’m not disputing issues per se, that 4M crossed or Chinese Christians are fleeing through the Darien Gap. But also a whole lotta click bait headlines and such get posted without credible sources and a lot of prophecies that never come to pass. Skepticism should work on both sides of the argument. Also why I read these and rarely mute anyone. I might not agree but appreciate all perspectives.

Ironically I don't believe the two primaries actively reload, or the approving Like either.

Yeah...I like so much content for two main reasons:

I like acknowledging people's contributions. I may not particularly agree, but that's the nature of the beast. Lots of people contribute meaningfully without agreeing with my views. The works would be a rather dull place of we all agreed all the time.

The system doesn't always take me to the last new posting. Many a time I've revisited a thread of some size and I've been taken to the beginning with no clue how far I've previously been through the thread. I can jump ahead until I can see where I've last liked a comment and pick up from there.


Once in a while, I run across someone who is making posts not worthy of acknowledgement at all. These are rare cases where I don't like a comment...or will go back and unlike. If I think a person is trolling, if someone has gone off on the deep end and resorting to character attacks, or I think they might be a sock puppet for example.


So my liking a comment doesn't necessarily mean I agree with what's posted.

The tale end of OJC...I spent some time in the Darien province, back in Jan-Feb 90, rooting out PDF and dingbat battalion goons that thought they could melt into the jungle and start an insurgency after we removed Noriega. Of course they thought wrong, but it was like hunting roaches in the dark with a toothpick and took time.

That is some seriously nasty terrain.

We lost an OH58 and a Huey in there during a storm...11 men lost their lives that night...jungle is unforgiving on every level.

I am funny and have great reading comprehension. I've literally read thousands of books (no doubt a lot more than you- I'd bet money on it) in my over half a century on this earth.
