Anybody using one of these? How are they? Any other suggestions? Obviously a 9mm doesn't really need a muzzle brake per se.

I've mostly used linear comps to reduce apparent noise at my end. Had one on my 5.56 AR pistol and it worked great. Same for a KAK flash can on a 9mm.

If you really want one, pay half that amount…

You could also support one of our vendors and buy one of these instead:

I have one of the eBay linear comps, and one of the 5050 flash cans. Obviously it only works if you don’t have the factory front sign on the S2K.

I have a couple of the flash cans. They work great for deflecting muzzle blast away from the shooter.

Does anybody have their (MCarbo) replacement bolt? I tried looking that up but did not see it on their website?

The ones from ebay do they just get screwed on? I have an AK with a flash hider likes to become loose over time, there's nothing securing it in place which is a bit odd.

Most come with a crush washer.

The ones from KAK specifically don't, so clones of those might not.
Could be. Both of the ones I linked to say one is included.

And surely everybody has a used one around somewhere. 🤣

I ended up buying the first one off ebay, it should do the job.

If you’re like me, you’re gonna be surprised how small it is…even though the dimensions are listed. 😁

Years back I but the bullet, paid the money and waited for the tax stamp to get a suppressor. Never regretted it. If you want less boom, that is the way. It's so much fun. You let someone who's never shot with one try it and they get a look on their face like a little kid.

Sorry if that is dumb question but that washer does that have a right or wrong side to put on before attaching the comp?
Direction of crush washer is one of the most common questions, the correct answer is that the contact diameter of the washer needs to be the same or smaller that the surface it mates against, in some cases that’s cone forward, in others it’s cone towards shooter, and in others it doesn’t actually matter.

in your case it’ll most likely be the smaller surface towards the barrel shoulder. So if you’d stood the gun on its stock and held it vertically, the washer would drop down so that it looked like a bowl sitting there.

Can you do it wrong? I put the smaller diameter towards the muzzle and it seemed to go on just fine.

The concern with doing it “wrong” is they don’t crush evenly, and won’t be concentric to the bore. In your use case, this probably isn’t an issue. Surely the linear comp is overbored enough that you wouldn’t have a projectile making contact in the 1” or so it’s out of the barrel and inside the comp.

Leave it as is…or remove the comp, flip the washer, and tighten it back down. Wasn’t required to torque it too tight, so redoing it shouldn’t be an issue if you wanted to.

So it did put it in wrong then?

Technically, yes. It’ll go on backwards just fine. And it’ll hold the comp just fine.
