EXCLUSIVE Ford set to announce plans to run EV, ICE as separate businesses -sources

Ford Motor Co on Wednesday will announce a reorganization under which its electric vehicle (EV) and internal-combustion engine (ICE) units will be run as separate businesses in a move to fast track growth in EVs, three people familiar with the plan said.

Seems logical. Keeps focus on future innovations instead of continual SUV and truck sales.

Splitting the company like this may provide certain legal protections should they run into problems for one reason or another. Problems with the EV portion will have less impact on Ford's ICE facilities this way.

Of course the divisions will be combined for that calculation since they are part of the same corporation.
For CAFE purposes, the calculation of mpg for flex fuel vehicles is based on the gas consumed, not fuel. 15% gas. So a Yukon that get 15MPG gets a CAFE credit score of around 100MPG.

This. California who already can't meet electricity demands is trying to force everyone to get an electric car, but this summer they'll be begging people to not run their AC and rationing power again. Bloody idiots.
