Haven’t seen this one yet. Got a notification that someone quoted me…only thing is, I never commented on that thread.

Just a guess - I've noticed sometimes XenForo seems to keep a buffer of quoted posts from many threads. Suspect he accidentally had one from you saved in there when he posted originally (and then edited out your mistaken quote from another thread).

Now that you say it I remember that I saw exactly that. He had a bunch of random saved quotes from all over the forum in that post.

I don’t think it’s XenForo unintentionally keeping them, if that’s what you meant.

If you click the +Quote button, it keeps that one marked until you uncheck it or quote it. And if you accidentally clicked it at some point, it’ll show up whenever you insert the other quotes you intended.

I see it happen to myself every once in awhile, but usually catch it before hitting Post reply.

Yeah, i didn’t mean it was a glitch or unintentional feature, it’s just the way it works. But its the one thing I’ve found that’s kind of kludgey and often inexplicable with xenforo. It happens to me every now and then too and don’t recall ever clicking them to store them up. Or I’ve already used the quoted reply and the buffer didn’t clear.

I usually catch them before posting too, but they seem to be hard to get rid of and don’t confirm to normal editing. They’re…..’sticky‘ for lack of a better word. Hard to highlight and edit to get rid of and they refuse to delete.

Hit Insert quotes (remove any that shouldn’t be there…this is where I usually catch them):



Hit Quote messages:
