Local news just announced that four (4) people were dead as the result of another mass shooting in New Brunswick, Canada.

I thought Canada had very strict laws regarding firearm ownership and use? What went wrong? Why didn’t these laws keep everyone safe:rolleyes:?

How tight are their gun laws up there?

Can't they just drive into one of the states south of them and buy guns off the street? End sarcasm
For sure! ... it’s the US’s lack of gun laws and the NRA keeners and Trump’s refusal to support universal background that allows the hosers to buy guns illegally down there and bring them across back across our border ... then we get these kerfuffles! We all know Canada and hockey rule!

I don't know the specifics, but I do know you need to get a permit to buy anything up there. I don't think CCW is legal. They have banned some of the popular guns here in the US, but on the flipside, they can buy Chinese M14 clones for dirt cheap, and they can legally buy short barreled shotguns without a stamp.

Most of their gun laws are pretty terrible, but they are allowed a few things that we're not.

They must not have the internet, cameras or reporters in New Brunswick. Usually there is all sorts of pics and stories by now. Especially with 2 cops dead. It will be interesting to see if this is because nobody wants to go there and report, or if the bad guy doesn't fit the correct narrative.

Ona side note my brother and his wife rented a place up there last summer for a week. Really nice and really large on the ocean for not much $$. He said it was nice and peaceful. But he's not a gun guy so leaving his weapons at home didn't figure into his calculations.

Actually their gun laws are better than some of the ones in certain states up north and out west.

Can they own Ar15s? Nope but a Tavor is perfectly fine.... same with a few others

Is there a lot of hoops to jump through to get a license to buy? Yep, but once again it is lot worse in some stateS here in here in the US.

SD laws are non existent, and open or conceal carrying isn’t a thing.

So they are decent but not anything close we have here in NC or most other states

Here's a story on the Toronto shooting. Notice how that has disappeared? I am guessing that bad people from hot regions of the world might be using Canada to get close ir inside the US. Whatever the case the media is silent. Let's hope our wonderful FBI is doing something other than making up dorriers on politicians.

Holee crapcakes!! "Fahad and Ansari had 42 kilograms of Carfentanil and 33 guns in the basement of Ansari’s home. Thirty of those guns were a single model of Glock pistol, still in their boxes."
"Hussain and Ansari possessed enough poison to kill the entire Greater Toronto Area (GTA) 328 times over, or enough to kill the entire population of Canada 58 times. It also corresponds to enough poison to kill the entire US population more than 6 times over."

Nothing to see here, move along...;)

So it has been about 10 hours since the New Brusnwick shooting today. They have the suspect in custody, amd I hear crickets. Weird. If he was standard issue crazy guy it seems we would have heard something. Are they just really slow in New Brunswick or is there something we don't need to know?

They have released his age (48), but that's it for suspect info. They have identified the Officers killed but not the other two other than one male and one female.
