Finding 3 to more a day and don't ever recall seeing this many in the years before.
Anyone else having issues and any remedies?
Don't know how they getting inside either....

They must move around the state. in 2022 we had them all the time up in West Jeff. Haven’t seen too many since then. Your turn I guess.

We’ve been having a resurgence of them in our travel trailer. Drives the cats nuts. Whats more, there seems to be one in or around the shower that lets go about 3/4 of the way through. Can’t seem to find it though.

In the dead of winter I'm seeing 2 per day in the house.

As I pack up the uninsulated/unheated garage they are EVERYWHERE hibernating. As I repack I'm wrapping everything in pallet wrap to keep new ones out and the ones I missed from getting back out.

I hate them.

This is the first year in a while we haven’t seen many. Normally as soon as we have the first fire they start coming out of the chimney.

Hatred is real!
Yea, moved a tarp in garage that covers generator when lost power last week...must have been 20 or more....gggrrrrrr
Wife hates the smell so when we find any in house they get a folded wet paper towel capture and burial ....

We have an indoor bug zapper for them and the lady bug/asian beetles that works great. Dual 10" tubes. We keep it in the loft sitting inside a aluminum turkey pan to hold all the blasted remains.. its nasty how many of those damn things get nuked, but its satisfying hearing them die with a SNAP! :)

I have one hanging in the garage that I fire up in the spring when they come out of hibernation. They're masters at getting in, kinda dumb when it comes to getting out.

I have had 2 or 3 a week in the house for about 2 months now. Never had them before. My guess is that they are coming in from the garage.

Haven't seen any so far this year, but I'm sure they will show up eventually.

I just came here to remember the time my wife ate a stinkbug, cooked in some greens, that slipped through the washing. I'm guessing the bug was clean.

😁 😁

PS, she said they taste worse than they smell.

Why aren't the bug eaters among us eating these things?

If they think eating bugs is so darn good, they need to pick up the pace!

Dude.. my 9month old boxer pup eats them. Its gross. When he has a few he yaks em up. His breath gets funky. Lol.

Stinkbugs don't like peppermint oil or lemon oil. If you have an essential oil diffuser, try either peppermint or lemon and see if it doesn't deter them. We have a place in Alleghany County NC where the stinkbugs are terrible in the fall of the year. The diffuser really cut down on stinkbugs entering the house this past fall. Also keeps your house smelling fresh. We have also tried spraying around the door jambs with Glade lemon spray, which also seems to help.

Thanks for that info 🍻

Supposedly the best way to capture them is in a vacuum.
Problem with that is they emit their smell in the bag, which then is filled with smelly dust and etc., and the bag has to be prematurely replaced. I do use the vacuum, but reluctantly.

Better option is, if they are within reach, is to take a short piece of some nicer-type toilet tissue, lay it over the bug ... the texture of the paper adheres to the wings, then quickly swipe it up so that the bug is encased in the tissue. If it sprays while doing so, the odor chemical is contained; in any case, immediately flush the thing. I clear out at least 20 a week here. They like Chapel Hill as stink bugs are non-native pests. Feel right at home.
