Friend's son craps out at Parris Island

Bitter pill to swallow.

I know a guy (not a friend, just an acquaintance) who went to USNA at Annapolis, during the summer between his junior and senior year was injured in a training accident during his midshipman 'cruise,' they allowed him to finish but not commission. That has to be tough.
A high school classmate of one of my brothers went to the Naval Academy. He was 6'5 entering his freshman year. Grew to 7' tall in the academy. Another fraction of an inch and they would have botted him. 7' is the max allowed height in the Navy.

What community did he go into? Aviation has a height limit, not sure about subs or surface warfare (@RetiredUSNChief , do you know?).

David Robinson (former NBA star) went to USNA, he was an engineer. He was 7'1".

I don't know that there is a maximum and minimum height limit on subs, beyond that of the Navy itself. I couldn't find any reference online. I've known quite a few well over 6 feet tall on subs. I THINK the overall limit for the Navy in general is 50 to 80 inches.

Just means you gotta duck more if you're taller.
