Swinging through Florida this week for my neice's ROTC commissioning. We visited Ft. DeSoto state park to see the coast artillery batteries. This has the only 12" mortars still more or less intact in the U.S. we visited this park 39 years ago and to tell the truth I don't remember much of the park from that visit except being jazzed when I saw a new F16 fly over the fort. I had not seen one until then.
