At the H2O match today @indie_rocker 's fancy 9mm 1911 did something my G34 could not... run the whole match without a malfunction. It's really wanting that 40k service.

Last round of stage 6, the last target engaged through the minivan (for those that were there) I fired 3 rounds and then this happened:

That's a recreation of the malfunction on the tabletop, I wasn't about to try to stop the match so I could take a picture. I'm not that much of a nerd.

I went to clear it and stopped, figuring from a gamer perspective I would lose more time trying to clear it and make up the charlie than I would just eating it. The math proves that out, if I had cleared and fired I would have lost a position in the overall ranking vs. gaining one even making up the charlie. Whew.

Being the last round in the second to last stage made it easy to count backwards to get the exact round number, and since it happens so infrequently I thought everyone would want to know. I don't know if it was wolf or tula, I was using the dregs from a can today and it was a mix of sealed/laquered primer wolf military and some regular steel tula with the copper washed bullets and they were all mixed in the mags.

Enjoy.

Wait, isnā€™t steel cased ammo supposed to be bad?

Oh hm. How is your extractor looking? Looks like the gun just didn't have enough muscle to push the case out fully on its own in time for the slide to cycle. At that high of a round count it makes me wonder how your extractor and ejector are doing.

Didn't you just post something about actually cleaning the gun? I'm pretty sure that is the problem. I don't shoot near as much as you but based on this, I don't plan on cleaning my glocks.

I am pre sure he has cleaned it once...or at least got it wet when it rained during a match...

Extractor is OK but it's due to have the extractor spring replaced here very soon, this sort of thing becomes more common when that spring is old. Usually the new spring is 25% longer than the old one, not sure if that means anything or not since I've never measured a not-new but also not worn out spring.

I thought the ejector might be worn, but it looks OK compared to other lower round count gen 4s.
