picking up a p80 glock fully assembled lower with a zaffiri slide, glock 19 set up. this will be my first adventure outside of a OEM Glock. anyone here have any recommendations for holsters, is it reliable enough for carrying?

On their website they have a list of manufactures that sell holsters for the P80. I’ll post the link below. Never tried one of their complete lowers, so I can’t share any advice there.

Shot two this weekend that a fellah built. They ran great. I would do it.

I’ve been tempted recently to buy a factory P80 G19 since they have gone on sale for $399 a couple times. I haven’t read of any negatives yet.
I don’t like Glock grips but I like the P80 grip, as the angle is more similar to M&Ps.

I didn't like the frame as much as OEM Glock frames. 🤷‍♂️

That's because you're just like that.

The frames are different, don't feel glock like at all. I've got one and it's 'fine' but it's not a glock, feels cheap (lots of flex) and is incompatible with regular glock holsters as the OP is finding out. If I had to do it over again, I wouldn't.

If you don't want a glock but want something reliable for real use, there are a lot of choices out there better than a gucchi glock knock-off where "is it reliable?" doesn't have to be asked.

I like'm, at least the ones I've handled. I like the frame enhancements. Of course, its going to depend on the build and mods. And then there's the build it the way you want it factor. Didn't like the earlier Gen 1's.

It's nice that You don't need to wait and you can build your own DIY Glock.

You'll have to be Handsy and know somethings about the components

Otherwise. If you're gonna customize. Customize away

The ones I’ve handled and shot were like any other firearm. One ran perfect from the start and one needed some massaging. After shooting 500+ trouble free rounds, I would feel quit comfortable and safe carrying one.
The interesting thing is you can have one mailed directly to your house. If you liked tinker toys growing up, this is for you.

The only experience I have with P80 Glocklike objects is when friends bring them me and say “I can’t get this thing to work, would you take a look at it?” Based on that small sample I decided to stick with the original and avoid copies.

I haven't used any of their complete guns but the 80% kits work well. Between my buddies and I we have 4 of them. Like anything else I'm shooting a box of hst and around 500 rounds of fmj before I'll decide to carry it. In my experience they are reliable and run well. I imagine the factory guns would run just as well as a good finished 80%

I thought the point of the polymer 80s was to build it yourself. Why would you buy one already built?
What @dbracin said.
Basically if you want to jump into the Glock world but don’t like the Glock frame AND don’t want to DIY.
Plus the P80 complete pistols are cheaper than I can build a pistol and the parts look pretty good.

I did one not long ago. Ran a few hundred rounds of 147gr round and HP and only had failures with ETS mags Glock mags ran perfect. The trigger guard undercut is too small for my giant fingers.

Also, may be worth pointing out, 3D printing has taken off and one can print as many Glock frames as they want from the comfort of their own home. You can also customize them to your heart's desire if you know CAD.

Why is the guide rod sticking out the front?
That's a tungsten guide rod for G17 with a 15 lb g17 spring. Has about the same power as a factory g19 18lb RSA based on my calibrated fingers.

Is a 3d printed frame as durable as a molded frame?

On most printers that most people have, no.

PLA+ is perfectly fine for a Glock lower. It won't be able to take hot temperatures (e.g. your glovebox on a hot day), but should last thousands of rounds. Of course, you can just print another one for a dollar or two worth of PLA+ if you wear it out.

Which is why they're pretty much just a toy. Multi axis printer ls with better materials can do cool stuff though.

Have over 3K in this one. Only issue was a loose pin, but it was my fault from not putting the jig in a vice to drill it. Other than that only issue is my same issue with all Glocks, they eat my hand.

I am a tinkerer at heart so p80s have been fun but after building a few I find I spent just as much if not more than an OEM Glock. Which at the end of the day I rather have the factory reliability. P80s are fun range toys but that's all they are to me. I am starting to feel the same way about my AR-15 builds... Might start buying complete factory guns and just accessorizing it to my liking.
