A Georgia lawmaker says private property owners should be able to prohibit firearms from their premises if they want, but believes that if they do so they should be held responsible for any harm that might befall a lawful gun owner who was disarmed by the policy.

I’ve often thought that this should be the law. Glad to see it introduced in GA.

According to that, if a customer opens the cooler door and hits me, I can sue the business owner. As long as he has a no-gun sign and I own a gun that I’m not carrying.

I would think that situation is already covered with existing laws. Having you gun would not have changed the outcome of what happened when the person hit you with the door.

Pass the law. Then start a professional organization for the businesses that post no gun. Then use that organization to sue the state gov to attack the gov exemption. Divide, subvert, conquer. lol
