Could do a grab bag instead of just one thing. Targets, cleaning supplies, his Favorite SD ammo or what ever else he may like. possibilities are endless..

My wife tasked me with finding a gift for the SIL. The search ended up along the lines of sporting gifts.

Since this group likes to spend others $. List your ideas, cost up to $100.

My choice:
Wheeler Firearms Accurizing Torque Wrench

https://www.amazon.com/Wheeler-Fire...&keywords=inch+pound+torque+screwdriver&psc=1

The torque wrench was the first thing that came to mind, but you can get the whole scope mounting kit for under $100 at Optics Planet.

A nice electronic ear pro always works too but you can't go wrong with a gift card to Midway or Brownells or some place similar.

https://www.amazon.com/Beretta-Hand...qid=1541348870&sr=8-2&keywords=patent+beretta

I got this for my father last year, great thing for the gun lover's man cave or reloading room.
He's a Beretta guy, but there are many other firearms available like this

Under 20 bucks, then you buy a frame, can get out for 30-35 total.

I, personally, like the gift bag idea:
-some ammo
-gun lube wipes
-maybe some new shooting glasses
-a magazine or two (ammo magazine, not print lol but print might be something they like too)
-book on guns

OP said a hundred bucks, so let's go:
-print I posted earlier + frame, 30 bucks shipped and done. (that was the 11x14 size at about 18 shipped plus a 10$ frame from craft store...frames could be less, could be more - your style/preference etc)
-box of 9mm (15)

so now we're at 45

-glock magpul model 17 magazine (just for reference, PMAG for AR similar) - 15

so we're at 60

-rem oil wipes, ive gotten them for 5 bucks before, like a 10 pack

so $65

-book on guns, 10-15 bucks. Go to B&N and there are lots in their 'value' section

80$ US

Sweet NC Guns or USA guns shirt from HMP - 15 shipped, I'll throw in a sticker too!

And that leaves you five bucks to get a gift bag to fit it all in!

I'm a big fan of this idea. Tools, gear, etc is so personal I hate having others pick it for me. But a grab bag of stuff that we know will get used is great.

To add - the patent posters: they can be found on Amazon, but I actually got my father his off of Etsy.
At the time they were cheaper on Etsy than Prime, not sure about now/current pricing.
But keep it in mind if you think you want to go that route

AND
If you are going that route, and need a frame - AC Moore and Hobby Lobby both have coupons each week on their website that you can pull up on your phone and save between 40-60%

$100 worth of whatever ammo they like to shoot

Shot timer. Nobody knows how bad I shoot.

I like the gift card option for a bigger gift, say close to $100. For cheaper gifts $50 or less the grab bag of goodies is King. I try not to buy things for people unless I know for a fact they need or want it. Otherwise I let them pick something for themselves.

People are so picky with this stuff. I'd stick with the basics like others have said. Even then, ya never know. This is why I just take people out to eat and buy the after dinner whiskey.
