I have my first 9mm suppressor in jail right now and I’m starting to get my thread adaptors and threaded barrels ordered so when it clears I’m ready to go. I need a g19 and a g43/43x barrel for now. It seems prices in the 19 barrels are over the place from $60 at bear creek Arsenal to $200+ for some like the faxons. Most of the 43/43x barrels have been $175-$200.

I can get both faxon barrels local but they’ll be $450 for both. Are they worth the premium?

I’m sure someone will come tell me I’m wrong, but I’d stick to a well known brand (lone wolf, silencerco etc) but not get caught up in boutique stuff like Faxons high dollar line. They used to have basic blued ones for $150 or less but maybe they’ve moved on.
My Glocks aren’t target pistols, and most reputable brands will keep you in the factory barrel accuracy category.

I’m not paying extra for bronze finish or flutes, but plenty seem to go for that sort of thing and then not understand why resale value sucks when they get rid of it in a year.

I’ve had a Lone Wolf for my G17 for years with no issues.

Edit: Faxon does seem to still have the duty line for less than $150. https://www.sportsmansguide.com/pro...glock-19-threaded-barrel-4150-steel?a=2202807

I haven’t seen the duty series from faxon I believe all the ones at the local store were match series and they were all fluted and different colors. I like the basic black anyway.

I was about to order a 43x barrel from silencerco it’s on sale for $100 but then realized it uses a different piston (1/2x28SN) so I wouldn’t be saving any money there.

I have a glock factory barrel for the 19 in 1/2 by 28 and it has worked perfectly. Paid $150 from Glock. Of course they don’t make a threaded barrel for the 43x though. I am looking for one of those as well.

Several suggestions in this thread:

I remember the 43/43x/48 barrels are a smaller diameter so there wasn't enough room for a shoulder to index the suppressor on with a standard piston. If Silencerco couldn't figure it out without a different piston index, I'd be leery of lesser known brands who claim to do it without some research.

I definitely understand the novelty of having a suppressor on a 43x, but I can't imagine shooting it very much unless you need it quieter to practice in your backyard range or bought one of the suppressors that has a very short/light configuration. Even a G19/G17 is very front heavy with a suppressor. 43x would be extreme. You might want to experiment with the G19 a bit and then get the 43x barrel, or put that money towards a heavy framed host to balance out a bit better.

No, I would absolutely not pay that money for the Faxon. I’d get on OEM or a SiCo, whichever one is cheaper. BCA may be fine, but I stay away from their products.

I picked up one of the Faxon Duty series a couple of years ago for around $85 and I'd say it's not worth much more than that. The finishing is a little rough. It does function fine and shoots well enough.

I bought an obsidian suppressor that is about 5” or so in short configuration. Imo all this pistol suppressor stuff is novelty in for a penny in for pound.

I feel the same way, I have an obsidian as well and on my Glocks it is very unreliable function…..but once I put it on my FN509T I was impressed, it feeds anything I put through it 100% reliable so far. I could see using it as a nightstand gun

I've got a silencerco barrel for my G34, works very well for the little I've used it (if it's 100 rounds I would be surprised).

Pistol cans are a novelty; of the 4 people I know in real life that have them I've yet to see anyone bring it to the range more than once. There is zero chance I would buy one of the gucci barrels for use with one, I can't imagine they do anything 'better'.

I'm also of the opinion that I wouldn't put a can on a HD gun. I'm unsure of how it impacts reliability, and I know how it impacts my ability to use it, and since I stage an electronic headset with my HD gun... I want the noise. There will be no confusion that someone is shooting in the house. :)

I have OEM, SiCo, and Combat Armory threaded pistol barrels and all work just fine. The fine details and finish vary, but they all function the exact same for me. I don’t hesitate to buy a $45 Combat Armory barrel these days.

glock oem barrel all day long. buy it direct from glock. im one of those 13.5x1 LH weirdos. glock still caters to us, well at least somewhat.

I have a Lone Wolf for my G17, picked it up on sale, they used to run those often. If you reload or shoot cast/coated I'd skip or plan to have throated the chamber is tight and the leade short. Sample of one accuracy is better than either of my oem barrels.

I’d buy one from Combat Armory.

How can you go wrong for $45?
I‘ve bought AR uppers from them. Perfectly acceptable.

I keep considering buying that Glock barrel and I don’t even have a suppressor.
I’m going to order one of those. And I guess I’ll order the SC 43 barrel I’ve got $200 credit at rugged’s website so I’ll use that to buy the $80 booster needed for the 43x. I was going to blow that $200 on 3 lug stuff but I don’t even own anything to put the 3 lug adapter on. I need to buy or put together a 9mm PCC in the next couple months. This $500 suppressor is going to end up costing me $5k 😂

Yep, 9mm PCC is a must if you have a 9mm suppressor. That’s where mine spends most of its days!

Another +1 for Combat Armory . I've put several of these on P80 builds and have been happy with them.
