I say this to everyone considering a CZ.
CZ is a great gun, but it is no different than any other out of the box production gun. It is not without its flaws.
The sights are usable out of the box but imho need upgrading asap (with the exception of the suppressor ready models. They seem to be pretty decent).
If it is going to be for carry, the Compact/PCR/P01 all come with rubber grips that will catch on a cover garment and screw you up. Change those out asap.
Although it seems CZ is phasing them out, some models still come with a magazine that has a thick rubber baseplate. They'll snag cover garments, too. So, if it's going to be for carry, change those, too.
Out of the box, the trigger is merely ok. Long and gritty. Dry fire and shoot it. A lot. It will smooth up and be a good one in time, but overall travel will still be the same. Seems like I noticed the difference in most of mine somewhere around 7-800 pulls.
CZs are notoriously oversprung from the factory. A three spring upgrade kit (hammer spring, firing pin spring, FPB plunger spring) from CGW is almost a must have.
There is some aftermarket support for CZs also. Holster choices are plentiful as well as choices for changing out the grips. There may not be as many companies that make the internal upgrade parts as a Glock, but the support that does exist is quite good.
Correct holster and belt choice can render the CZ compact models comfortable for EDC.
Heavy, all metal, da/sa guns aren't for everyone. As everyone has stated, it's going to be a personal preference thing. I learned handgun shooting with a Beretta 92, so I'm completely comfortable in the da/sa world. And, within that world, the CZs actually represent a pretty good value.
YMMV
