Funny, I was just watching this video that seems to speak a lot to this choice.
Not at all impressed by him, his ASP business. nor the Cobra Kai logo. Could not care less about the opinions of a conference of Buffet Bar Operators.
Over the last 20 yrs, these tactical "schools" have popped up like weeds, just like martial arts dojos did in the 1970's...For every 1000 of these there are perhaps, maybe 1-2 dozen worth a damn.
Completing one of these hokey courses that are designed to please the students, in order to gain more business, is as hollow as a chocolate Easter bunny.
It's both the new adult version of everybody gets a trophy no matter how much you suck and "Hey man! y-you'd better back off, I'm a black belt." Only now they cruise around with BS moto stickers all over their vehicles that scream, "Smash my windows and take my toys!" and preen about in their fashionably tactical attire, name dropping celeb instrs and courses, hoping like hell no one takes them to task.
This whole "Tactical School run by Celebrity Instructor/Guru" industry is just a business model built on ego, ambition, product placement/endorsements that depends public fear and students idol worshipping/sucking up to the self-anointed Celebrity Guru in the hopes that they'll get something out of it. I call bullshit on the vast majority of them.
I don't why the weak-assed public has to have:
Life coaches, personal trainers, nutritionists, tactical gurus, etc....
There is a large percentage of the population that can't even take a crap without expert guidance and approval/likes from other members of one of the several cliques to which they belong...
There are a few excellent Instructors out there, do exhaustive research on them, then spend your money wisely.
