Going to Build Aero EPC9 SBR

I have decided I want to build a 9 mm SBR and can’t determine what length barrel i want to go with on this one. I have a 11.5 sbr and really like it but wouldn't mind it being a tad shorter. The way i understand it the 9mm ballistic barrels are about a 1/2 shorter than the ar barrels. So if i went with a 11” epc barrel it would be an inch shorter than my 11.5 sbr with would be almost perfect but i am also considering a 8.3” barrel with 7” handguard. I think I will end up with a suppressor at some point in the next year if that makes any difference. Thanks for any input

I am leaning towards the 8.3” as if i do a suppresser down the road i will be 2.5” shorter than the 11” version
 
I have a 4” and a 7”. Can’t imagine wanting a 9mm barrel for a pistol/SBR any longer than maybe 8”.

The 4” has a longer handguard with a can tucked all the way inside. The 7” has a shorter handguard with the can completely visible.

I think i am going to go with the 8.3” barrel. Gun shop showed me a silencerco hybrid 46 suppresser yesterday and said that was a good one but man was it heavy. What suppresser would you recommend for me to use on a 9mm sbr, 556 ar’s, 6.5 grendel and a 350 legend. Like to stay under $800 if possible. I don’t shoot a whole lot anyway

I wouldn’t buy one silencer to use on all of those.

But a Rex MG7K 358 would do it.
 
Lower/upper on the way from b kings firearms and i ordered a ballistic 8.3” barrel today. If lower comes in Friday i want to go ahead and start the form 1. Can anyone measure the overall length from end of threaded barrel to buffer tube? Or is it with stock fully extended? Can’t remember

Stock fully extended. Just submit barrel length + 19” and be done with it. Round it either way.
 
I think i am going to go with the Omega9k as a can for this rifle and maybe use it on my G19x and G45. Was thinking of a silencerco 36m and using it on all my guns but i will wait and do that this summer and use it on my 6.5 grendel, 350 legend and 5.56 rifles. Going to pass on a 22 can for the time being. There is a gun shop that has the Omega 9k for $695 and they electronic prints and photo and i like that because then next time i don’t have to do prints and pics again. They are $1070 otd plus stamp for the 36m

You could be spot on when you make it, then decide you want a different stock and it no longer matches the form. Don’t sweat it, as it doesn’t matter. 27”, 27.5”, 28”…whatever you feel like.

I may have actually measured mine 10 years ago, but my form is 7”/25.25”…way back when I didn’t know any better about how little it matters to be precise.

That’s $60 higher for the O9K than the there places I just checked. But not too bad of a deal if you’re comfortable using them.

22 can is where it’s at. 😝

You could almost pick something other than the O36M and have enough left over to buy the rimfire can. 😉

But that’s me spending your money. 😎
 
Dangit! Now tou got me rethinking a 22 can. Another shop has a Ruger silent 22 can for $429 otd. Maybe i should go ahead and get that one. Heck i’m only short $125 on getting both. I hear the 22 cans are the most fun to use. I have a 15-22 and a savage mkii 16” version so it would be worth it i bet

I have several play toys laying around. But by far, my Ruger American bolt action, 22/45, 10/22, S&W M&P 15/22, and Glock 44 with my .22 can blows the rest out of the water. They are a blast!
 
Got my BA 8.3” barrel in the other day and i realized i ordered the wrong barrel. I wanted the epc version with the enhanced feed ramps so i ordered the right one and plan to send this one back. Now i lack the bcg and macon buffer(i assume it is the best one out there)
 
Submitted my form 1 on Tuesday and got a dissaproved/other email Wednesday morning. We got my birthdate wrong (1891 instead of 1981) so going to fix it today and resubmit. I went to another shop Tuesday to buy my omega 9k and warlock can. Got thru all the stuff and when they went to lookup serial numbers they were not there so i have to go back when the ATF fixes that mess. Nothing is working out for me this week😩
