Ok so finally bringing my fiance over to the Glock side and looking for a good holster for her. I know what holsters I like but she is much smaller than I am so they don't work as well for her. Just got her a Glock 26 yesterday to take the place of her sig p938. She has been carrying that one aiwb with a custom kydex holster but even that one has some draw backs to it.

The main thing that gets her is she is 4'10" and 90lbs so very tiny. Anyone have a wife or girlfriend that is small like that and concealed carries? Hoping someone with experience can chime in. Thanks everyone

Don't have any of my own, but I would check out some of what Faliaphotography has put up on youtube re: female specific holsters.

We certainly do happen to have someone like that. Not a wife or girlfriend but our very own Miss Lily who just happens to be the moderator in our new Lady Shooters section that is located here:

Going to be honest here. Sometimes you have to fit the gun to the person, not the person to the gun. My wife loves her XDsc 9mm. But she absolutely cannot and will not carry it. It's just too big and heavy. She carries a S&W Bodyguard no laser. In your wife's case, you could find a holster that lets her carry a G26. But unless she is willing to dress around it, she will not really be concealing a G26. And by dress around I mean cover garments like jackets or vests so she does not print. Because there is no where for that G26 to hide. It would be like trying to strap one on my oldest daughter, not really going to work.

Now, not saying you have to give up. But before you start buying a bunch of holsters to try make sure you both understand that gun is not going to disappear under a t shirt for her IWB or OWB. Will she have to change the way she dresses? Is she willing to do that?

If she is looking OWB, an avenger style holster has the smallest footprint around. IWB, some type of single clip. But a G26 is pushing what some single clips can really handle. Possibly a summer special style snap loop holster too.

This is exactly what i was going to say I can seem to make my fiance understand that which makes her not carry at all which isn't good. She keeps an LCP at home but that does her no good.

She dresses pretty conservatively so she can cover the gun pretty well. She just thinks it prints bc it is thicker than the sig she has been carrying. She just wanted to have a few more rounds after shooting my 19. Also I didn't like the external safety for her. While she is a pretty good shot and uses good discipline when shooting she isn't used to having to turn the safety off to start engaging. Was running her through some drills and she would forget to turn it off and it took her a bit each time to remember the safety.

G43 is skinnier and lighter but still shoots extremely well.

It's definitely controversial and possibly even frowned upon by most of the gun toting community, but maybe take a quick glance at the Versacarry line of holsters. I use one for a P238.

I'll be the first: HELL NO. Especially on a gun without a manual safety.

erhodes I think for ladies, having multiple options is much more important than one single holster for everything. Candy GunPowderGals is probably a good person to talk to as well, she's kind of the female concealed carry guru 'round these parts.

Well, she's right. It will print more because the GRIP is thicker. The grip is always the problem for printing. And IMO the Glock grip is the absolute worst for printing. My CZ 75b prints less than my G19 simply because of the grip being more rounded.

The best way to deal with that is a thicker cover garment; long shirt, jacket, vest, etc. Another layer helps to mask the printing. I've concealed a S&W 500 with 6.5" barrel under a Chamois flannel shirt. The fabric is too thick to hang on the gun. I love those in the winter.

The cut of the shirt is important too. A shirt that is cut straight will conceal better than a fitted shirt.

The holster is just one of the issues you will have to figure out for her to carry that G26. Don't get me wrong, I hope she figures it out. It will be some work. My wife just refused to dress around her gun, so we down sized.

Hey! It is definitely a challenge to carry when you are a smaller frame. I'm not as small as your wife, but the good news there is a ton of options. Can you have her reach out to me directly? I have several items that she can look at and I should be getting more as I'm gearing up to my Concealed Carry Fashion Show & Expo April 8th. If she can wait, I would highly suggest that she attends the show because she'll be able to see a variety of women wear different holsters with different outfits and then she can actually speak to the models. Plus we are working to make sure the options on the runway are available for her to look at and purchase from the vendors.

My wife absolutely loves carrying her Ruger LCP in a Flashbang holster. She tried carrying in the waistband but none of her clothes would work with any holster we tried and she wasn't about to change the way she dressed. With the Flashbang, she can wear whatever she wants and still carry. Plus it's easily accessible and she says very comfortable. I would highly recommend your wife look into it.

Yeah, my wife & I both started carrying our G26's, and she couldn't wait until the G43 came out. I got her a G43 last year for her birthday (and I wound up getting one too, - with consecutive serial numbers). She found magazine extenders that add an extra 2 rounds, so we now have (skinnier) G43's with 8+1. Sweet.

And, she's gettin' pretty deadly with it...

My wife is 5'0 at 120 lbs. she really liked this thin OWB holster that has kydex in the middle and leather flaps on the ends that JBoyette sells.

This sounds like a good time for her! I will see if I can get her to send you a message on here or something and you guys can get together.

My fiance is 5'3 130. We just got her a belly band holster. She has only been using it about a week, but so far she likes it. She does say that wearing an undershirt between the band and her body is more comfortable.

The one we got was about $13 so if it turns out to not work, we aren't out a whole lot.

Remora?

That's what I use, but granted, I'm not 4'10 and 90 pounds. :(

Remora "accidentally" improved their holsters recently by making an OWB version. I've always liked them due to their simplicity but actually found them to be a little too thin.

The OWB version has an "extra layer" of material on the body side since it is essentially a velcro flap to attach to your belt.

When used IWB this gives it the flatter profile (one of the reasons Chief Jason's holsters are comfortable) and a little more cushion between me and gun.

It actually works surprisingly well as an OWB holster for range use etc. as well.

Disclaimer: am an not a woman, but I am getting "curvier" each year...
