My daughter has been using Google Meet with no issues on her chrome book until today. The issue is that once she connects the other users have horrible white noise on their connection. Once she muted her side the noise goes away. So tonight we logged in and tried to fix it and I couldn't find anything that helped. It wasn't the network connection or any extensions. I turned computer off I'm to the point of doing a hard reset but thought I'd ask if anyone knows anything at all about this stuff.

I did hear that google and chrome book were reporting problems today but not sure this is part of the issue.

My teacher wife uses google meet with all her kids, she suggests trying a headset or earpods to see if that helps.

I use it with my students and yes it needs earbuds for best audio. Try turning down the volume on the chromebook to minimal levels if no earbuds.

No it's not her audio it's everyone else's audio. If she is logged into a meet it sounds like white fuzzy noise until she mutes her mic. We logged in two different computers to check it out and it's definitely on her chrome book's end.

Have a look at her microphone settings if it has such a thing. Make sure the gain isn't all the way up.

as soon as you take them out it goes right back to the loud fuzzy noise. I'd say her microphone probably shorted out since she has been using it for a year like this with no problems.
Feedback loop is when the computers microphone is picking up the same sound that is being transmitted through the computers speakers. Broadcasting itself. Like when the radio caller has the radio playing in the background.
