I have a 2016 Honda Civic that needs brake pads, but I’m lost as to what to get...

I have a 2016 Nissan Rogue that deserves attention too... 🤔

any ideas for maintaining them in good shape? I drive a lot with them & don’t want to abuse them... I hate new car shopping. I even use Amsoil full synthetic oil..😩

I believe the OEM Honda pads last longer than a lot of aftermarket ones. Not sure who makes them for Honda, but you might be able to search it and find out.

Check out your parts options here along with pricing. I run RayBestos ceramic disc pads and Wagner coated rotors so they don't rust up.

With brake pads you generally get what you pay for, I would stay away from the cheapest ones. The rotors are just as important as the pads as well.

I have a good mechanic who will tune the rotors for me, and while I’m considering new rotors altogether, I want to get quality Stuff.

I may not have this job long, due to better offers, but while I’m here I want my discount.

Akebono gives good performance in the fleet. Personally I usually go with a mid price ceramic, but with standard transmissions I've only ever worn/destroyed pads from caliper problems. Though I usually change them around 100k because I buy them without checking.

so I don’t need any fancy cold air intake, etc? 🤣

I am considering a towing package for the Rogue, but it can only haul 350 pounds, so what is the point. 😕😕😕

Reactions: Me.
Akebono pads for the Honda. If you are on a budget I have used AutoZone's Gold pads with good results. Raybestos is good as well.

If you can't resist the upgrade bug get a stock replacement K&N air filter for the civic. Some people hate them but most factory air boxes are made to be quiet.Quiet means restrictive at some point. They have worked well for me on a wide range of engines.
