Got the gobbler

Awesome. We’ve seen several here around the house in the last couple weeks.

I suck at calling,
I tried the box, the rubber thing and the plate with the stick and got absolutely nowhere.
must be my german accent LOL

So, this time I didn’t call whatsoever.
I just put one decoy hen out.
Then just sitting in the blind waiting…
and that guy showed up.
I think I just got very lucky !

Don’t knock luck. You did better than most turkey hunters. I’ve seen them only when hunting deer.
 
I’ve never been much on turkey hunting because growing up, there were little to zero turkeys in my area. I’ve never cleaned one either so I’m sorta anxious about messing it up. But this year I’ve seen a ton of turkeys in the neighborhood and @Lil D and I went kayaking on Macintosh Friday. Ran up on a big ol Tom in the creek wwe we’re in and I played some hen calls on YouTube and had him gobbling and strutting and carrying on. Kinda got me in the mood to hunt them next year.
