I did opfor for a couple of years down there (Vietnam style-Huey’s and A1’s). This was the early ‘90’s. You damned near had to carry plasma with you because of all the damn ticks. I guess if you’re moving instead of laid up on an ambush you’d be ok.Woof. That's some fairly rugged terrain, thick woods & brush & some respectable water to deal with. We trained out there a lot & I jumped into more than a few FTXs there at 0200 hrs.
I'm betting it's pretty similar to a Ranger Challenge-type competition, with a 'tactical' shooting stage or 2. No way my fat, broken old ass is up for that kinda fun. Hell, that course would likely have been a ball-smoker back when I was a 31 y/o Master Fitness Trainer.
20 k is only 12 miles, I have to work the 19th, but god gave me vacation days for such a reason............
Let me think on it.

Well, maybe some of you guys will be at Battery Oaks that day?
Yeah, but at Battery Oaks you don't have to run/be fit, though Billy might bark at you if you snatch the trigger!Dang, same day as the Battery Oaks meetup
