Greensboro Gun & Knife Show

I'm plan to go Sunday. It's usually a decent event. Will be visiting Backwoods Bang Shop for sure.

planning.
Show is good, but 16 bucks to get in starts getting pricey

to add, assuming they still charge 5 to park.
this correct?

I know its a better show than the WS CE show, but 8 bucks vs 16...

To me it's worth it. I just can't do the Winston show anymore. Even with low expectations I'm still disappointed.

One of the best I've been to was in Hampton Va. It was huge, free parking, lots of vendors. It makes the GSO show look like Winston. A little bit of a drive though.

I'll be there Saturday morning. You have to look at it like its entertainment, which it is. It would cost you that much to go to a movie, get popcorn and a drink.

I'll be there. My buddy will have a table and I'll be helping him all weekend. If we are in our usual spot, we're straight down from the concession stand beside Gold Rush. I won't know for sure until we get there Saturday morning and it ticks me off that the coliseum doesn't have wifi, so I won't be able to confirm location until Saturday night.

I'll go hoping backwoods has that 686 talo all buffed up shiny and waiting for me lol

I thought I had seen coupons for this show in the past to get the admission down to something a little more reasonable. I would like to go on Saturday but paying pretty close to $30 for the wife and I is a little insane and would negate any savings to be had.

Another thing I don't like about Greensboro is the coliseum always has too many events going on at the same time.
All weekend they have the gun show, a spa show, some trampoline/tumbling event, and a UNCG basketball game Saturday night.

Go and Park in Stameys parking lot and walk across the street. Bout the same or less walking distance and its $5 cheaper

Come by Fat Boy Belts we'll work something out that will pay for the parking at least. Plus there will be a sub $500 new AR.on the table.

I'll be there by chance will you have a brown 52 waist belt? Lol

Few years back they had a Gunshow, Beerfest, and 102 super jams. The crowd was really interesting when we walked out of beer fest.

The year the circus was there upstairs, the gun show down stairs and the beerfest out in the tent thing in the parking lot. The look on the soccer mom's face with all the people walking around with guns was priceless.

The last several shows, Stamey's was charging $10-15 to park. I have my wife drop me off at the show and she goes shopping elsewhere. I give her a call when I ready to be picked up and no parking fee.

I had lunch at Stameys around noon, it was so crowded that when the table for four was ready, I shared it with two ladies who just happened to be behind me. BBQ was overpriced for what it was, I think... :/

Then I go to the gunshow which is crowded and head to GRNC table. Handed out quite a bit of literature, got no toys but did locate a knife dealer I had been meaning to talk to.

In good news, I met Lee Marvin's identical twin, except he was alive. :D

Decent show, a lot more crowded than I expected. I just wish that who ever sets up the tables could even out the aisles. Some aisles you could barely get through with someone on each side and then others you could drive a car down.

Only bought a striped upper from a guy with a flat top, long beard and selling leather belts. Thanks Curt.

I went today and thought it was a really good show, I was pleasantly surprised to see some of the harder to find firearms at a few different vendors, Arsenal AKs, CZ Scorpion pistols and carbines, POF ARs, Odin Works ARs etc.

I saw Curt at his booth but he had a pretty large crowd when I passed so I didn't get a chance to say hello, saw the folks at Lucky 13, I made the "what no CSC" comment when you were telling the guy about this forum, the reaction was priceless haha.

Last time I ate at Stameys, it wasn't as good as it used to be. Country BBQ is better IMO.

Who had the cz scorpions? Do you remember? I'm planning on going tomorrow.

Being heading that way shortly...hoping to find a CZ 455 Varmint

Just heard there was 30 guns stolen from a vendor here last night

Ouch. I wondered about security, especially given some of the attendees & snippets of overheard phone conversations.

LOL! I was standing right there when you said that. Didn't realize that was you.

Crowd seemed a lot heavier in the AM than later on. Got to stop by & visit with Don, Ryan & Curt a little which was nice. Wanted to visit with Derek a minute, but he was slammed with customers.

Saw a few nice leverguns that I really wanted, including a '58 Marlin 39A Mountie, but I didn't feel like sleeping on the couch & walked away. Seemed like you couldn't swing a dead cat without hitting an AR assembler, most of whom apparently can't find/source a BCG with a properly staked gas key.

I was surprised at the amount of components available & made sure Lucky 13 had a bit less inventory to drag back to Kernersville.

Holy crap, how did that happen? Only firearms I saw unchained were the high dollar double barrels, or muskets..

I wasn't extremely impressed. The only thing I wanted to buy was a set of grips for my officer size 1911 and stood in front of a case they were in with at least 4 people working the booth with one 2 feet away on a computer and I waited for at least 10 minutes finally said loud enough to be heard I Give up you obviously don't want my money and walked off. The shows I have been to lately have been going down hill in my opinion and really didn't see anything I would call a deal.

I've never really found a "deal" at a gun show, though I've seen plenty of fair pricing to go along with the dreamers. That said, I never went to a gun show prior to the Kenyan squatter's ascension to the throne & have only been to the GSO show 3 or 4 times. I thought this year was better than previous, especially regarding component & ammo availability.

I thought the people watching was pretty good, from the tactical hipster to the camo power couple wearing mismatched patterns.

I would suspect the thefts were an inside job, on the part of coliseum personnel, but that's JMO.

I went yesterday morning and it was quite packed.
Like someone else stated, some of the aisles were SO CLOSE together that it was hard to navigate the smaller side.

Left with a few multitools and a new EOTech.
The money that I saved on the Leatherman over buying from Amazon was twice what I paid for entry, so that was good.

As always, some good people watching to be done...and people smelling. Seriously folks, if youre going out in public maybe take a shower?

Saw Curt, he was busy, so i kept on.
Saw Derek, he was SUPER BUSY so I kept on.

Not a bad show

That's cleanist! You have to allow them their aversion to soap!

Navigated the entire show with wife/stroller/baby in tow. Didn't find what I came for but did come away with some great looking .45 projectiles from Lucky13. Nice meeting you btw!

I went saturday madhouse crowd and knifeman32 (backwoods bangshop) robbed of $ for a revolver and curt from twofools robbed me for a belt and t shirt lol wasn't a terrible show overpriced on red dot i was looking for went to ebay paid $60 ish less lol

I dont know who the Pineland guy is/was, but some spectators were reaking pretty bad.

Also, there was a guy selling free give-away items at his booth.
Stickers, buttons, and keychains that gun manufacturers give out, yeah, he had them for $3 each on his table.

But, as I said, I had a good gun show experience and walked away with some nice scores.
