Guilford County schools Satan club?

Not supporting this, or anything else, but, I think, most schools have the FCA club, which is the Fellowship of Christian Athletes, and it's not exclusive, oddly, to just athletes.
So, there ARE other religious-based clubs on the grounds

That said - I think this is to ruffle feathers

Philosophically, I have nothing wrong with someone using their first amendment rights to start a club.
Realistically, I have two problems with people that start satanist clubs. In my mind, they're either:
1.) edgelords trying to get attention and seem cool, so kinda pathetic
2.) true believers

Problem is, since they chose the PRINCE OF LIES as their mascot, it's kinda hard for me to take them at their word. :p

As somebody who tries to be agnostic in the face of some weird things, I try not to play with that kind of mess.
Just like I don't do heroin for the fun of it, because I don't want it to suddenly smack me back and take over.

I think that’s part of it. Yes, I do think part of the reason they chose is to wave a middle finger in the face of those see the symbology in a negative light and to offend them. They are also making a statement of faith or even anti faith rejecting the (not quite the right term, but it will convey the point) biblical view of God’s and Jesus; instead putting their faith in science and reason. I am sure @tanstaafl72555 would have a field day with this. Furthermore, they are asserting that their views are their religion and that they are just as deeply held and they then argue legal points from this perspective, which is what a lot of it comes down to.

I'm not a believer, and I am sure LaVey would find this hilarious.
I am not a believer to the point I had to look up who this LaVey was. One, yes he probably would find it hilarious. Two, the Church of Satan and The Satanic Temple are vastly different entities.

Just as I find some of the comments where it’s clear that the thinking shuts down upon encountering offensive symbology, quite humorous.

LaVeys book was a very interesting read. I read it in high school.

"science and reason"..... giggle

more like "epistemological arbitrariness in empirical determinism, and pretensions that a complex machine may have 'thought' "
as an aside.... I would LOVE to visit that group. Truly.

Someone shared this on Facebook about a satan club wanting to chill with your kids after school….

Apparently it’s true.

Every youth group leader from solid evangelical churches should have events training their kids to attend these meetings. I will guarantee you they would be short-lived. Satan is real. No doubt. He also is terrified of the risen Christ...."WHAT HAVE YOU TO DO WITH US, SON OF GOD??? HAVE YOU COME TO TORMENT US BEFORE THE TIME?!?!?!" (which is why Lavey is NOT "laughing his ass off", btw) He (Satan) is a cosmic punk who is facing a certain doom. Yah, I would love to visit one of these groups. The gospel is the power of God, which just stomps all over this dark power, which is, again, very real.

Do you mean the Satanic Bible? I have a friend who is a pastor who bot one. I have read big sections of it. I thought that was the only book he wrote, but I could be wrong.

in your opinion
I think it is more a definitional thing. "Cultism" can have a variety of meanings. It has a proper meaning and then a ..... shall we say "less informed" meaning held by folks who think they know a lot more than they do, and are committed to show both.

Yeah that’s the one. I mean I wasn’t really a bible. Just his explanation of the faith.
