No stain. Natural color of the wood. Finish is BLO (boiled linseed oil) mixed with mineral spirits to thin it down. Poured onto the stock in small spaces at a time and wet sanded with 320 grit paper. This creates a slurry of oil and sanding dust. Once the entire stock is sanded wait 15 minutes or so and wipe off excess going across the grain. This helps fill in the stock for a smoother finish. Numerous coats make it smoother.
