I do have to say, a special shout out to the corpsmen, without whom no Marines would be alive in war or peacetime. All of the treatment for hangover and antibiotics for the STD du jour, you're welcome.

Combat Corpsmen are not Squids. We consider them Marines like the rest of us and yes, those guys DO walk on water!

My birthday was Wednesday. Had I been born today, my parents would have named me Chesty after Chesty Puller. Happy Marine Corps Birthday to the most Marine Marine I knew, my dad (USMC 1954-1975).

Our docs did the same Indoc as us; they literally did everything we did on the job. Def not squids; we’d fight you for Doc anyday.

I did the same basic reconnaissance course, the same dive school, the same designated marksmanship school, the same SERE school. And watched a lot of good, strong, smart Marines drop in the schools. But it's all one team, one fight. I am humbled by the Marines I served with and upon whose shoulders I stood.

Truth and honesty time.
My grandmother was in the Marines, my father was in the Marines. And y'all know what I did. So the above post was largely in jest. I joined the Navy for one reason, and it's serve with the Marines. No finer fighting organization this world has seen.
