A friend (from WI) and I usually head to Brownsville, TX and hunt doves opening week but it looks like God decided to change the plans this year and is sending 20 odd inches of rain instead. (hurricane Harvey)

I have been on those fields in years past and after a 15 minute thunderstorm and they get bad, I mean 3-5" of slick mud bad. I can't fathom 20" being dumped. There is little to no drainage and the water just sits there until it evaporates or soaks in. I'm certain that there are people and vehicles buried in those fields that will never be seen again.

So, I'm available if anyone has rabid birds that need to be removed...... (sad sigh)......

I'm just hoping the remnants of Harvey do not muck up this year's opener like TD Eight or Hermine did last year passing through the day before.

Now you can kill ducks instead.

I would love to go dove hunting but don't know the first thing about it (I shot doves with my dad when I was a kid though). Only reason I can duck hunt is my buddy has been doing it forever. I just like shooting and eating flying objects. I have some public dove fields not too far from me but wouldn't even know where to begin.

Sorry I can't help you.

I have a pair that frequent my backyard bird feeder. You're welcome to have a go at 'em if it'll cheer you up.
