Hey, I would like to know if anyone has any experience with Hardened Arms? I thought I had heard of every manufacturer of AR's and AR accessories out there until the other night and I ran across these guys. They appear to have some FANTASTIC prices even beating out PSA and Joe Bob's on barreled uppers. They have a 16" Barreled upper complete with quadrail for $149 bucks, that is $50 bucks cheaper than either PSA or Joe Bob's.

I had an upper of theirs, bought it from fuquay gun and gold as an assembled rifle on a psa lower. I never had any issues with it, and wouldn't hesitate to buy one from them. A guy I used to work with wanted it more than I did, so down the road it went.

I have two Hardened Arms 300 BLK uppers. The muzzle threads on the 8.25" needed to be chased with a die, but other than that they've been great. I haven't had any problems with either of them that weren't experimenting-with-handloads-related.

At the time (2-3 years ago), they were rock-bottom for the price. They're still about the least expensive uppers on the market, but PSA and others are coming in pretty close, especially with 300 BLK.

Well for this particular build, this time I chose to go with a trusted source PSA. Since this rifle will be used for hunting by a member of the family I did not want any surprises either on the range or in the field. Maybe for a personal gun I will give Hardened a try. Besides I did not want a heavy quad rail for hunting and by the time I purchased a replacement hand guard I would have spent more than a barreled upper from PSA.

A quick update, I asked Hardened Arms where they source their barrels from, the answer is they make their own barrels and they make most of their own parts. Like many others out there the parts that they have outsourced are manufactured to their specs.
