So im not sure if this goes on the thread or not but im convinced Palmetto state is the doller store of the firearms world in quality. I have ordered 3 diffrent handguns from psa and 2 has needed to be sent back to the factory. The 1st was a dagger that just would not run no matter what ammo i tried and was still broken even after i sent it off. Then i bought a breatta that was fine. Then i ordered a smith and wesson 686 that had a ton of light primer strikes so that one is at the smith factory getting worked on right now. The final straw was when i got 500 rounds of AAC 9mm ammo that had such hard primers that my g17 and cz10 could not reliably pop em. So has anyone else had bad luck with them?

My PSA AR's and Daggers have been flawless. I had an AR-V from them that wouldn't run, still isn't the best, but they did correct the issue substantially under warranty. I also had a batch of Ammo Inc. .300 blk purchased through them that was blowing primers, but they don't manufacture that and reimbursed me for the full value of the order, not just the quantity returned (basically gave me credit for the 30 rounds or so I fired).

Only had 1 issue with a PSA lower that the take down pin hole was not aligned and they replaced it. And I have bought A LOT from them over the past 10 years or so.

Why would a S&W 686 with issues be a PSA problem? Sounds like you sent it back to S&W to correct the issue, so why blame PSA for it?

I’ve spent a lot of money at PSA. Never had a single bad experience in store or online. Every gun runs like a champ and every round goes bang.

Only gun I’ve had from them that was a turd was the KS47 and I got rid of that one recently. All my others have been solid.

I've had one upper with a front sight too canted to zero.
One with a delta ring/barrel nut so tight I cracked the upper getting it off.
One carbine upper that was fine.
One lower that was out of spec.
Several lowers that were fine.

I have been running the ass 9mm and .45acp with good results. My p-10 has never failed running the 9mm.

I had problems after problems and their fix was more problems.
I will not order from them even if they were giving me their crap for free. They would still screw it up.

Never again.

The beretta is on beretta with the smith and Wesson I got to the ICORE match in Charleston and even those guy all say if you buy a smith just send it back to the factory as soon as you buy it - my model 19 had to go back because the cylinder and barrel needed to be realigned, brand new almost $1000 gun. As for the ammo I used to work for AAC as a quality guy and all I’ll say is I will never buy a box of aac ammo.

i like psa mission statement i just wish i had better luck with them
The worst experience I’ve ever had with psa - they did something with their card scanners so when I spent a good bit of money with psa on a Saturday - the following Monday I was charged again for that purchase with no warning and Wells Fargo said it was a legit purchase so I had to go deal with psa CS to get my money back and it took over a month I was MAD

I bought one of the first JAKLs, broke it during a YT video, they had me send it back, fixed it, made a running change to the JAKL as a result, and sent it back to me with some goodies too. No complaints here.

I have 3 dagger frames and 2 dagger slides with thousands of rounds on them.

I'm convinced the Gen 3 ejector design that they use is trash, atleast for their factory guns. Once I replaced the ejectors with glock factory Gen 4 ejectors, they run like Champs.

I think PSA is OK, you get what you pay for. If you're willing to put some work in them and trouble shoot them in the event that they have issues, they *can* be great.

I ordered a 300BLK barrel from them once and they sent a 9MM instead. Called customer service, within 20 minutes had a return label in my inbox and they had the correct barrel to me within... I think two or three days? Otherwise their stuff has been fine.

Had a wonky trigger spring on a GF3 AK I bought, by the end of the phone call they overnighted me an upgraded trigger spring free of charge. ARs have been great, more consistent than some others. I would rather use them over Anderson. Bought an 'enhanced' lpk from Anderson that made my gun... fire super semi automatic unexpectedly, engagement surface was a little too polished.

Ive built 4 of their guns from parts kits, I know of another 4-5 that close friends have built and never had an issue.

ive also bought other brand guns and more ammo then my wife knows about from them with zero issues.

ive read people online bashing them.....guess ive been extremely lucky

man it sure seems like some people have all the bad luck...either they get 5-6 turds from one company or it seems like they have trouble with turds from several companies always making it to them....its interesting

I wish i was on the other side of it because they do have some stuff i think is really cool

You get what you pay for should be their new motto honestly - that being said every ar I’ve bought from them has been fine and even their blemished guns - I’ve never been able to see what was actually blemished but from working with AAC if they call it blemished there is something wrong with it that they couldn’t hide I’ve talked to some of the ar builders that work for psa and most of their issues are painted over and it’s almost impossible to see what they painted over but function wise it’s usually never an issue

Not specifically PSA but AAC in general I've had 4 bad primers in 300 rounds of 9mm. Not great. Blazer seems to be much higher quality control for the same price range. I've had great reliability out of AAC rifle calibers but their handgun ammo seems subpar imo.

Shockingly I don't hear as much bad about BCA as I do about PSA even though they're much cheaper than Palmetto. I have a 12.7x42 upper from them and it runs perfectly. Though the only ammo I feed the beast is Underwood. Partly because no one makes cheap 50 Beowulf rounds. But still , it's interesting, I think it's simply a volume issue with Palmetto. When you have that volume of orders there are bound to be some duds or mixups. Still PSA has always shipped next day and arrived within 3 days of placing my order and have never had any mixups or misshaps so they still have 5 stars in my book but so does BCA so this from someone who only rides poverty ponies.

All the AR15 stuff I've bought from them over the years has been solid. Run like a Singer sewing machine. Their AR10 not so much. Kinda put me off them for ever after that.

No issues with their product... because I haven't purchased any....
But...I do have issues with their shipping .
Ordered some ammo....not only shorted a box but no dunnage to keep what was shipped intact.
Submitted a claim and while the did issue credit claiming a "supply issue".....
I took a chance and ordered more ammo just because.... second verse, same as first.

Won't be doing anymore business with them ....

Of the 4 items the OP bought only one was made by PSA. Reminds me a bit of some "product" reviews where people rant or rave about how easy the transaction was or how fast the item shipped. No offense intended. But I realize the OP was complaining about "bad luck" so that puts things a bit into perspective.

My PSA AR10 was so overgassed it ripped the rims right off the cases. Stoppage on round 1.

It now has an AGB and sits in the safe waiting for me to take it out and tune it, which is on the back burner as I have taken the scope off to mount onto another, more reliable platform.

Would not recommend.

As others have said, PSA owns the Dagger issue for sure. But that's it. To hint/imply they have anything to do with SW light strikes is...silly.

Negatives:

*Their shipping is super inconsistent. I've gotten overnight shipping to 10 day shipping for FFL & Non-FFL items.
*I have a lower than won't drop M2 PMAGS freely and M3 PMAGS are slightly better. No problems with USGI or Lancers.
*The physical stores are mad-houses

Other lowers, uppers, parts, mags, optics, and firearm purchases have been great and significantly cheaper than average.
