I built one 5 or 6 years ago, think that I want another. The last was suppressed and I hid the can inside the handguard. This one will have a 5” or 8” barrel but won’t usually be suppressed.

I’ll use the existing glock lower which has a JP captive spring recoil system, so I think I need a CMMG bolt with removable weight and cut for Glock mags. Actually should I just shuffle the bcg between uppers, or do they wear in to mate with an upper over time?

Have the barrel.

So need an upper without FA, short handguard, and charging handle? Barrel nut. Dust cover.

Any suggestions and am I missing anything?

Looked at that, and like the RDB concept especially for suppressed, but the statement that I need to use their lower puts it outside the scope of this project. If I was building a full pistol I’d give it a try, but today just focused on an upper.

I think there's plenty of people who have the RDB setup working on other lowers. What brand is your Glock lower? I can't imagine there being a huge difference between them. Magazine seat height might be it, but at the end of the day you're still working within the dimensional boundaries of an AR spec upper and BCG for all intents and purposes.

Try to find someone local who has an RDB Glock setup and see if you can slap the upper on your lower for some function testing.
