So last night, started with a clean bench, and over the course of a few hours slugged and cleaned 4 N frame S&W revolvers and one Ruger Redhawk.

Cleaning up I find this little retention clip on my bench. For a while just thought is was a bit of lead from barrel slugging, but it isn’t. Width is .17”.

No idea where it came from, any thoughts?

I’m pissing in the wind, but I have never seen a C clip in a S&W revolver that I’ve opened, I’ve never opened a ruger though.

While it’s potentially not helpful, I’d look up each model on Numrich and look real hard at the exploded drawings or parts list for a clip matching that description.

Or shoot ‘em till one stops.

One of the smiths has a single piece grip, slides on and screws in the bottom. Wonder if it’s a part of that assembly.
Agree, have never seen one inside a revolver.
