Probably not the right place to ask, but I think the reloaders on the forum will have a broader knowledge base and be able to answer my questions.

This is 30-06 Winchester with a silver tip. It's fairly old, I may have had it for 12-15 years. The silver tip isn't paint, it looks like aluminum but isn't soft and it does NOT attract a magnet.

I'd like to know the bullet weight and bottom line is it safe to shoot in a Garand or 1903.

A couple of crappy pics

1903 would be no problem.
I would not shoot it in a Garand just to be on the safe side.

Probably either 150 or 180 gr. It’s an old version of a soft tip. Actually called Winchester Silver Tip

That's what I think but I wanted to be sure. I have no idea how/where I got it, it's in a baggie now. I don't have tons so I could burn through it in a 1903 or A3 and save the other stuff for the Garand.

Thanks

Bingo "SilverTip" ammo ... would have no problem shooting it out of the "03", the Garand I wouldn’t.

Winchester was "SilverTip"
Remington was "Bronze Point"
