So I took a buddy of mine to @Panteao Sportsman's Club to shoot yesterday. After shooting rifles we moved to the pistol bays and he had this happen to his pistol. Looks like the guide rod (?) somehow broke and he doesn't have a clue what to do.

Being a plastic gun guy (Glock, Walther) myself and never owning a 1911 (I know, I know) neither do I so I thought I would post it up and see what my fellow CFF friends could offer up.

The slide will not go back more than an inch so he can't even take it apart. Suggestions on how to proceed? I'm guessing the grips need to come off and then ????

Anyway, thanks for any help you may be able to give. Much appreciated!

Does Para have a lifetime warranty? Have you contacted Para/Remington?

I have not. Just got this from him yesterday after we were done shooting. Will call tomorrow.

And thanks again for the help. Man that slide was a bear to get off!

The fact that you know this puts you about 800 years ahead of most of us.

Yes Sir! Running better than new according to my buddy who I fixed it for (thanks to your help). Gave it to him late last night just in time for his birthday range trip today.

A big thanks again @Mike Overlay
