sound takes about a quarter second to make it from one end of a football field to another. you literally can't have that many people spread that far apart be in synch without an external signal like visual cues or something electronic piped into their ears to override ambient noise. H2H is about 120bpm, so one beat every half second. by the time your one note makes it to somebody at the other end, you're already a half beat on with the show. if they're trying to synch to your sound, by the time their note makes it back to you you're a full beat apart.
