Last year we had a total of 3 bell rings and 5 kids in a Raleigh subdivision with a lot of homes.
We had moved in about 4 weeks earlier and didn’t know what to expect.
I’m thinking this year will be a bit different so I got a couple bags of candy and shells for the 12 gage incase the teens want to play games.

years ago, a friend got a bunch of blank gift cards
(no money on them) to give out instead of candy.
he said: "buy the candy you want."
yes, he was that guy.

When the kids were young, we would go all out for Halloween. Loved the wee ones costumed up. When the youngest went off to school we quit. With the fentanyl and THC candy thing going on these days, I would be afraid to participate.

I am scared to death for my youngest grandson to participate.

Told my daughter to throw it all away and I would replace it with a Dukes Mixture of candy and such!

As kids we went around the neighborhood and filled big brown grocery bags with candy.

When we got older we would string toilet paper across the road and watch people freak out .
Some would drive thru it, some would get out of their vehicle and tear it down, some would go around the block.
some would try to figure out where we were hiding and chase us.

once we hid “borrowed” close line in the toilet paper And a guy drove thru it — that was not pretty

I enjoy giving out candy, last year was in Chicago (very briefly) and missed the celebration here, but look forward to seeing the costumes again this Monday.
