I purchased a Holosun HS507k X2 for my Glock 48 MOS on a black friday sale and took it to the range for the first time sometime in January. I've been very happy with it, probably 600-700 rounds down range with it. But I was out at the range again this week and in full-sun I couldn't locate the dot. Hmm ok weird maybe it's brighter outside than anytime I've shot before. I get home and notice the dot is very dim and the brightness won't turn up. I'm assuming dying battery but they advertise 50,000 hrs of battery life or something crazy so it seems suspicious. I get a new battery in it this evening and it seems to be an issue with the optic itself. Bummer.

I guess that's what I get for cheaping out and not getting an RMRcc but I've heard great things about this dot. I will say their customer service was very responsive and was able to get a human on the phone within a minute of dialing. Prepaid shipping label coming my way but they won't send a replacement until they receive and evaluate mine, which they're saying is 15-20 day lead time from receipt.

Isn't there an option to "lock" the setting in on the dot brightness? Just making sure you thought of that.

I appreciate the thought but no unfortunately that’s not the issue. It seems that the up button is completely non responsive. Down works fine (change reticle, turn brightness down) but the only way to get the brightness up to medium after turning it down is to remove the battery and reinsert

Warranty should fix it for free.

I haven’t heard of many issues with the 507k but a dead “+” button is an interesting one. I wouldn’t start kicking yourself for not going RMRcc. Hopefully Holosun takes care of it without any hassle, even if it does take a few weeks.

In the meantime, grab one of the $99 Riton’s in the HotDeals section then throw it on a .22 afterward.

I just got my 507k last week so can’t speak to durability yet but it seems great so far.

I have several Holosun sights and encountered a similar problem with one.

warranty replaced it.
