Shocking display of idiocy.
Damn! Stupidity at it's finest. That RSO was quick thank goodness
They did not America that day.
RSO was on point
"But it was just a selfie!! Why can't a person take a selfie??"
This is why “ranges” are not your friend.
This is why I don't often go to a public range. I've seen so much stupid I lost count.
Even at a private range I see some, but not many.
And this is the mentality that you're standing next to, with LOADED guns!!! Darwin could have a ball with these 2...
Take it one step further... Put that same 'stupid' in a 3000lb Road Rage of Death Machine.
Selfies kill, people.
Shouldve let Darwin win...
I stopped by an indoor range here in this county that does ALOT of business. I had never seen there range and out of curiosity stopped by to look in. Ronnie Sue stayed outside in the front and I was directed to the range. You opened a door and stepped into an ante room sorta area maybe 10 feet square, closed that door and opened the other to step into the range. When I opened that door I noticed an RO to my right sitting in a chair. I stepped in and the person in the first bay turned to look at me and pointed an AR right at my head. I jumped backward through the door that wasn't quite closed into the ante room and slammed that door as I passed through. I opened the other door Quickly and closed it behind me. RS said, Well that was quick! I said...Let's GO. I still think about that when we are on the range here. Scary!!!
This is my worst nightmare. We have had some questionable incidents but, so far, nothing was missed (by RO's) before it became life threatening.
We emphasize possible expulsion behavior in our oreientation classes but, many listen to the spiel enough to pass the test and immediatly forget as soon as they walk onto the range.
Good Grief!!! PEOPLE ARE FREAKING STUPID!!!!!!
It's hard to get people out of the mindset of "I'm not going to screw up so I don't need to worry about it".
RO should have removed magazine, clear chamber and then proceed to pistol whip the SOB.
That video is scary and even more scary for the range officer if the guy was going to off the friend when he interrupted. You never know if he came to do harm.
Any way to watch that without logging in to FB?
Here, unless you can't be bothered to use youtube either. In which case I'm sure someone will burn it to a cd and hand deliver it to you.
At TSA last week, RSO behind me, senior citizen in lane to my left, RSO stops him, guy was looking down the barrel of a .22 NAA mini revolver.
"It didn't go off." You can't make this stuff up.
RSO helped him clear it and kept an eye on him. I'm glad he didn't have trouble with his AR he was using with a young guy.
muzzle awareness is important, but this wasn't a case of not being aware of where the muzzle was pointing, he clearly meant to point it at his buddy. Probably with no ill will and just trying to make a video, but incredibly stupid. Gun safety must be taken seriously!
Sad part is, this is probably the first time the guy has ever held a gun. It could have even been a rental, and that's why the RO was right behind him the whole time.
It's crap like that that makes me go to the range early. Rarely on weekends and now never when the Groupons are being used. Friday evenings, Saturday afternoons, etc.
I just recently had my target at .5 yds to check what I was doing and next to me a gun went off and my paper target rippled. Sure enough! A keyhole at the bottom of the target! I packed up and left. and changed avoid to never as far as certain times.
