Getting some old wood from my dad's house this weekend. Broke out his "crane" and really put it to work. Thought y'all might enjoy this Jerry rigged janky thing. I can't talk too much crap because it works. He built a small frame for the harbor freight winch and uses a lawn mower battery to run it. Old boat trailer, engine lift with extra supports and a large pipe over the end to extend the booms length and something to hook to.

Started with the lawn mower and the whole contraption was picking the mower off the ground. Truck was able to do it, we bent the boat trailer cross beam but oh well the wood is loaded up.

He was born and raised in Plymouth MA but these days he's really looking like a redneck 🤣

If your back didnt hurt the next day and no one got hurt I would say it was a success. Been guilty of doing things like that on a much larger scale lol.

Redneck is as Redneck does but I am proud of some of the engineering I have seen my family come up with. I fully believe my Grandfather and his brother could build dang near anything you asked them to.

They inspired me to do what I do.

Did any one get hurt or die?

Did it work?

Looks legit to me, i've done FAR sketchier things with an engine hoist. I'll be installing an air/hydraulic cylinder and winch on it in the near future.

What is going on with the rusty barrel? Is he making a rocket out of it? @Squanchy

He is currently storing Gasoline in it, when the gubment comes for him he plans to light a charge off and shoot it at the alphabet Bois as a last stand effort....

It's a deer feeder. If you zoom in you'll see a fishing weights hanging from chains that go into the bucket. The MONSTAH antlers hit that chain while they are eating and give them some more corn. He has a handful of them but stopped using most of them because he has trained the deer to come into his backyard. He has 11 acres but now just sits in his garage most of the time.

Not going to knock it. There are times I’d give my left testicle to have something like that.
It was very helpful loading up a gunsafe I sold last year. The little frame for the winch is amazing though. We were able to attach it to his barns cross beam and pick up a 9' work bench and back my trailer underneath it. I was pretty thankful I haven't cut up my old boat trailer yet. Idk what the bench is made of but it's friggin heavy. Knowing the govt it's probably some select structural extremely dense hardwood
