Let's say you bought something on-line from a reputable source, not a mom-n-pop operation. For an in-stock item, how long are you giving them to ship before raising a stink? It seems like expectations have shifted to 1-2 day for fulfillment processing whereas in years past a business week wasn't unusual.

Two to three business days should get it shipped.

It depends on what they/their website said, whether I've dealt with them before, and what others are saying about order fulfillment from that company.

If there wasn't a shipment timing guideline or a caution about delayed order fulfilment, I usually wait about a week & then inquire politely.

my FIL/wife's company had a turrible time finding workers to actually fulfill the orders. I think they were up to offering over $20/hr with bonuses for showing up all your shifts, and they couldn't hire enough people.
so... it may not be the mom and pop, but the company shipping out their stuff.

For non-FFL items, 2 days is my expectation. On the 4th day I’d probably check in.

Too many retailers have pushed their shipping time out to as much as 30 days (exception), while most being 5-7 days. As @Windini said, check the website for expected shipping dates, and do n+1

I know the one I deal with the most has gone from 3-5 days to 7-14 days (and they tell you that up front)

We do some Subscribe & Save monthly replenishment from Amazon. It used to be you had to confirm the order a couple days before the delivery date (first of each month). Now, they have a cutoff at least a week before delivery. Seems it’s taking them longer then before to organize deliveries.

Depends on the site. Check out their facebook page of not a national chain. Most places that don't advertise next day or ships in 2 days I expect a week right now.

I know Ballistics Products (shotshell reloading supplies) has been 2-4 weeks for the past 2 years due to the demand and their size of operations, but they have it on their site that shipping takes that long.

Was it Optics Planet? 🙄

Most of the places I've been dealing with lately have been shipping in 3 days or less. Unless it's Midway, which is a matter of hours.

Tomorrow will be a calendar week. I'll give them 'til Monday then check up. It's a non-FFL item.

There's a business based in Wilmington. From date of order to date of shipping was a week. For a pair of shorts. On day 5 I emailed them and asked "what's up?", they replied that it's a small business and had a lot of orders to process. I got it about 2 weeks, maybe 2 weeks and a day, after I ordered it.

At the week point I'm asking some questions.

Then it gets to run the shipping gauntlet. Had USPS loose a package from BST here for 5-6 days. Scanned in and was promptly thrown in a corner or something. Had to start a package help ticket and I guess they went and found it. Good times.

Nope.
How long to ship?
Months. I recently read on here where someone had been waiting 6 months. They were always slow but you could count on getting what you ordered. After Mr Tyler died, it got even slower. They make them one at a time.

Dack Outdoors has great prices but also say it could take up to 30 days to ship (firearms included). Not quite as bad Tyler T grips but still sucks, especially for supposedly in stock items

You know those expected dates aren't real either. They'll send you an update with a now expected date, bumping it out. I went over 6mos last year, waiting on some .30cal bullets for reloading. Other sites started getting them in and I cancelled.

Has the charge hit your credit card? If they are quick enough to hit the CC then they should be pretty quick on pulling, packing and shipping the product … 3 days should be enough and 5 days plenty. Now ,like said above, if their website gives a shipping time frame are you order you are kinda sorta agreeing to said time frame.

I ordered from Schuyler Arms the other week. Took him about a week but their site said to expect delayed shipping. The deal on the x39 Epsilon brake was worth it.

Depends on what it is. Is it from adamandeve.com? I need that stuff ASAP.

Other items I can wait a couple weeks or so before I start to get frustrated.
The warehouse is in Hillsboro, it’s a short trip.
It was a bit of a surprise to walk in there to give them a quote, the distribution ctr has a different name.

Just to rant. I ordered something a few weeks ago and paid for 2 day shipping. That’d be fine but getting it in a box took them 5 days.

Same deal for me with CHPWS. Either two day shipping for $20 or one day for $30. Took a week for the package to even get shipped.

I ordered an in stock gas valve for a cooktop from Bosch, on the "dealer's only" website, and requested next day shipping. It arrived the day after they shipped it, but a week after I ordered it.

Depends on the terms they list on their site.
Honestly, the shipping stuff is such a mess, I have been giving a week or so before I ask

Yup….

Fill out your order form and mail it in with a check/MO.
Back then you waited for the mail. Then you waited for the bank to clear the check. Then you waited for the company to pack and ship. Then you waited on the mail again. 4-6 weeks was positively fast considering.

I ordered a hand guard from Pantheon Arms this afternoon.
4:14 Order confirmation
4:16 tracking number sent
4:30 USPS acceptance scan.
16 minutes from clicking "buy" to in the postman's hands.

I realize this is out of the ordinary so I'd give them 20 minutes at least.

I call it Amazon syndrome. Kinda like CSI syndrome. Before Amazon everything was weeks.

We want it NOW!

April 5 will be one year since my check cleared with Tyler T grips. You can bet it will be the last they ever get from me. Per their own suggestion on their website I sent two texts in the last couple months to enquire about my order status. I included the check number and the date it cleared my bank. Crickets. Nada. No return, no communication whatsoever. It’s a shame, too because they make a quality product. I’ll just go to flea bay from now on to find one. Not worth the hassle.
