depends on who you ask and their motivationOK, how about a more general question...
Would 25 be considered alot for a typical gun guy? How about 50? 75? 100? 150? I'm just trying to see what your opinion is.
look into bulk purchases of rusty old receivers for a couple dollars per on gunbroker. it's fun to say you bought a dozen guns through an online auction at once. You probably wouldn't want to fire any of them, even IF you could find the parts to rebuild them... but still...This has more to do with disposable income and level of enthusiasm than how one percieves an arbitrary number. But ok, 100 is a lot of guns. why? because I can't afford that many.
The number of firearms a gun enthusiast wishes to own can be represented by a simple formulaOK, how about a more general question...

150 I hope youre gay because i'm getting down on one knee.
I'm curious about how many guns owned by 'gun guys' that you know. What is a typical number for a guy that is into guns? And a number for the guy that owns the most guns of anyone you know.
I'd like to add one of the bug assaults for those really bad days in the summer. Flies really like my squirrels for some reason.3
1 shotgun cause Joe said it was ok.
1 small marshmallow gun to draw in the squirrels.
1 .177 pellet gun for squirrel cook outs.
The first expensive gun will hurt, the second one will hurt less, then you go to your cheap guns and start putting money into them to make them expensive. Then it won't matter all that much. I think about my cz with a pro package and say dang that was expensive. Then I ponder and say well it was only half my ar....Now we have some reasonable responses. That gives me an idea anyway. I wish I hadn't asked. Now I feel like I need to buy more! Although, I'm at a point that I am tending toward the more expensive stuff, not about the numbers. I've always thought it was crazy to spend XX on any gun. Now I'm thinking about it. And also am thinking the guys that buy and sell might be smarter than I am. You get to try it out, then keep what you like the best. I've never sold much.
Agreed that we all probably tend to shoot the ones we like best, and the rest just sit. But I do try to shoot all of them at least once/year. Mainly so I can clean and oil them at least that often.

Basically thinking down the above line add in a couple of other family member guns (your wife’s EDC and kid’s trainers) also along with one or two heirloom ones and you’re even closer.I, personally, wouldnt consider 25 a lot.
Grab a couple ARs, a couple shotguns, a couple hunting rifles, a couple 22 rifles, a couple 9mm/45s...and, boom! Youre nearly halfway there without really trying.
