How many guns?

I don’t have any. I’ve always rented at the range and never bought anything dangerous to keep in my house with my grandkids being there.

I don't have any yet. I joined this forum so I could do research and learn about guns. Soon as I get my stimmy check I'ma buy a whole bunch of um.
 
I sold my last gun to a Marlin collector. I asked him, he was not offended. He told me 150 Marlin lever guns. I felt a little intimidated.

and I’m 6’5” and he is about 5’7”. 🤣🤣
 
Do nerf guns and water pistols count? If so I have two if not I have 1, a .22 rifle but I lost the barrel, trigger and bolt.

Truth be told, I have no idea what my number is. Id have to open the safe and actually count.
But first, Id actually have to care.
 
OK, I think I got one real answer out of all that. Maybe. Geez. I'm not asking how many guns any of you guys own. I know better than to ask that. Because I know I'd get the sort of response that I just got. I'm asking how many guns someone you know has. The person with the most. I feel sure many of you know someone well enough to believe what they tell you. And someone likely has told you. I have four or five good friends that I know how many they have. It's not like you're revealing anyone's identity. Just a number.

And I've been here since 2011, with over 6400 posts. Well, on CSC since then anyway.
 
I visited a guy in CA that had hundreds of firearms, all collectable. He had multiple Pedersen devices, rod bayonet 03s, several gas trap M1s, just all sorts of rarities and collectables. It was quite an opportunity to hold and view his collection.

Really? You're pursuing this? First, I think the answers will be all across the board. Many with have a few and some will have crazy numbers. That's life and economics. But, it's still a public forum and I think the prevailing belief will still be, Don't Ask, Don't Tell. It's a slippery slope. Suppose I say, I know a guy with 1001 guns, whose to say someone else monitoring this board won't come to me and demand, "Who is it?" Especially, since you're being specific about first hand knowledge and not generalities. I don't know how many guns anyone has and I'm not going to ask. I don't want to know. And I think it's been adequately "hinted", you shouldn't either.

Why do you need to know? That’s a shaky question for most people. Especially here!
 
If big brother ever starts demanding you tell them who your friends are, we're all in real big trouble.

I'm just curious. I assume guys that are collectors with a mega bank account would have a lot. But I'm not thinking about collectors. Rather the 'gun guy' that uses his stuff.

I agree that now is a particularly bad environment to be asking. I feel like a really big snowball is rolling down the hill and about to hit me.

Lost in the boating accident. But a friend has 4 and another friend has 5. I can borrow theirs.

How many do you have is the wrong question to ask. The correct question is how many do you need or want? The answer (is perpetually) one more. :D
 
average guy seriously into guns? somewhere more than a small town police department, but less than NYPD

I would think double digits would be a safe answer. Surely you have at least 10...but 100 would be a lot for most people. 😎
