How many miles on your vehicle?

06 Honda CRV 252,000 miles
No real gripes except one or both low beam headlight bulbs go out every six months or so. My understanding from the mechanic is that they are same as foglight bulbs and just don't last long. No major problems. None. I thinking about getting something else too, out of boredom I guess.

02 tacoma 212k no real issues as far as I remember
02 civic 170k leaks oil, broke studs on oil pan
12 jeep jk, 155k my mobile mechanic quit halfway through a job, so it's tore down and been apart for a few months now, it's had a oil pump issue, oil cooler issue and now it's needed new rockers and lifters

2011 Ford fusion
230,000 miles
Just put front brakes and found the water pump jingling around while idling.
No leaks from the pump nor oil from the motor.
Try to change oil and filter every 5,000 , couple times it went 15,000.
Otherwise, rock solid.

My brother is going to have to retire his 07 Chevy with 270k on it. Junkyard will give him $600+ for it as it runs and drives.

Get a Taco. Or pretty much any Toyota. They run forever if properly maintained.
He lucked into a Taco. 2010 TRD Offroad 4.0 120,000 miles. $10k. Bank gave a value of $16,6k

13 f150 with the 5.0 has 182,000 and counting. 5 to 10k each year are heavy towing. Rear main seal is starting to leak ever so slightly, other than that it's just been normal Maintenance.

23 explorer ST, 15k, no issues

90 f-250 with the 300ci inline 6, has either 60k, 160k or 260k lol. Took it in on a barter for pressure washing, got it running and it runs well, no tags on it yet though.

That’s a steal. Especially in these times. Toyota asks me every time I take it in for service (including today) if I want to sell them back my 2019 TRD OR. I always ask for an absurd amount of money for it and they don’t answer.

My Tacoma is only at 46K miles. Taken to Toyota for all service. The only thing that has been replaced so far are wipers (once) and cabin air filter (once). So far so good.

2005 Camry with 268k, I've put an alternator, valve cover gasket, and a coil in it. It's also used 1.5 qts between oil changes since I bought it.

2014 Corolla with 165k, haven't had to do anything to it

2014 Forester with 162k, I've put a valve body in the transmission, changed a couple wheel bearings, and replaced a lower control arm. All common issues with them. It also uses a couple qts between oil changes.

2000 Ford E250 Van, 268k, same engine and trans

1991 Dodge D250 Cummins 5.9 deisel, no idea, odometer quit at 157k long ago. My guess is 210k. No issue on engine or trans. Spent $7700 with many mechanics to fix brake issues after first 15 years.

Toyota Corolla LE, looks brand new, 86k, never an issue

2007 Tacoma Off Road; right at 240K.
I have only replaced the brakes, regular oil changes (about every 8K miles), had to replace the seals on the A/C system, and last summer the U-joint due to vibration felt on acceleration. I also upgraded the sound system with new speakers and a radio that would connect to my iPhone and had sirius radio.
It runs great.

Easy fix. But make sure it didn’t get the camshafts too.

If it has a V8 in it he can get twice that for just the engine and trans.

07 F250 180k idler pulley bearing, pilot bearing, rear brake calipers, cat back exhaust, alternator, instrument cluster reman'ed, rust.
11 Sonata 180k steering angle sensor, window master switch, alternator.
89 Camaro 220k clutch, coolant hoses, brake hoses, coolant res, full exhaust, rust, in my time.
17 Explorer 45k nothing.

04 4Runner 190,000
Basic maintenance

09 Prius I use it for delivering the mail
I change bearings in the front end but I think that mostly because I’m so ruff on it.

Knock on wood they’ll probably both break down tomorrow being I posted this.

i had a 05 corolla xrs with over 500,000 miles. When the transmission went I still had 1st, 3rd, 5th, and 6th gear to drive it to the scrap yard. I think I got $400 out of it.

You need just one more car. I see you have back ups for back ups 😎
What’s your favorite?
My '99 Taurus wagon. I do all my own work except for tires, alignments and inspections. Daughters drive the Ion and Malibu, wife the Edge.

2010 Lexus LX570 205k.
So looking over this thread; what I'm getting is buy a Toyota, or an HD work truck. Sounds about right.

Per the last guy that worked on it he said the cams were fine, even went as far as taking the cams to a shop to make sure they were straight n such. All the lifters and rockers replaced, but that's as far as he got, he had surgery, and now won't return my calls or texts. So trying to find someone willing to work behind someone else and just put the pieces back together. Not real comfortable messing with the timing chains n whatever else
Easy fix. But make sure it didn’t get the camshafts too.

Last 2 cars were a '99 Honda Accord bought new in '99. Sold in 2020 with 285k miles. Routine maintenance only.
'08 Subaru Outback. Bought in 2010 with 9k miles on it. Sold last August with 140k miles. Replaced a head gasket once.
'06 Honda ST1300. 100k miles. Nothing but regular maintenance.
'20 Honda Accord. 20k miles.
'23 Toyota Tacoma TRD Off Road. 4k miles.
