Heading to our lake place, sitting at the stop sign at I-26 exit 44, waiting to take a right on hwy 49. Truck and trailer in front of us.
John Q Intoxicated decides to take the exit and not use any brakes. Clipped us in the passenger rear corner and never slowed down.
I gave chase, Doing 95mph and weaving around cars on a 2 lane at night wasn't a safe thing to do. Almost got close enough to read the tag
but it got too dangerous. Not sure if he went north or south on 221 at Watts Mill.
The wife had SCHP on the phone for 12 miles of chase but they didn't have any units close enough to cut him off.
No injuries to me, the wife, or Max the silver lab!

Sorry for the bad start but could have been worse. Glad no one was injured.

Damn glad you all are OK.

Should have shot his dadgum tars out!!
Dang! and I had an AR, a PC9 carbine, two Glock 19's, and a 18.5" 870 in the truck as well as an XDs 45 on my hip!
(My get home package has changed in these trying times)

2019...driving home minding my own business and a semi ran a stop sign. Nowhere to go, clipped me in the rear (better than a t bone!). Rolled a few times and my coffee cup or laptop gave me a spicy concussion. Several months of coping with post concussive disorder and still dealing with lingering effects. People not paying attention can change lives in an instant! Glad y’all made it ok. Also...secure all the things 😂4545B199-7FB1-417A-A8AC-B9CB36C21DA5.jpeg

Is that all you had?? ..lol

Glad everyone is still here to laugh, bitch, whine and complain about it!
I have more to bitch/complain about....due to a mistake by SOMEBODY, there wasn't any collision coverage. I would have thought that a hit and run would fall under comprehensive anyway.
Estimate is $3996 for repairs.
I might just build a flat bed fo my Tundra.

Do you have uninsured motorist coverage? If so, check your policy to see if it will pay in case of a hit-and-run.
Yep, have that...they said it's only covered under collision.
The truck is a company truck (I own the company) and we always pay for our trucks, and rotate the older trucks to liability only. Somehow things got screwed up and I didn't catch it.

I do not miss Hwy 49 late at night. Used to run to the bread warehouse by the VFW in Laurens every night. A couple days before my last run someone had a heck of a wreck under the bridge. Closed 26, tore up the sign and guardrail. Glad no one was hurt.

Hope

Basically yeah but some lasting effects from post concussive disorder. Honestly I have to change my daily life to cope because somethings upstairs just don’t work the same anymore.

Like lists. I keep a running checklist for important things. Range bags, competition gear bags, groceries, vacation/travel gear, go bag components, etc. I’ve never in my life been a list person but after that one day...if I don’t have a list, I forget key items. I realize it happens as you get older but it isn’t the same lol...this is a “one day someone turned off the light switch” type thing and not a gradual thing.

I feel you @ForumSurfer, I received 'Post Concussive Disorder' from repeatedly shooting a muzzle braked .308 in an enclosed space. (To the point of getting blurry vision and nauseous and having to take breaks between pulling the trigger.)

Kind of a long story, but every time I pulled the trigger I could feel the whump in my chest and eyeball jelly. After six or seven times of doing this, probably 100 rounds total, I had some brain damage.

Two years later, and still not a 100%.

Speaking of bad intersections and roads, 29 to and from Greensboro...
Two lanes in each direction, 65MPH, but often people drive much faster, with assclowns pulling into your lane with zero warning at 10 MPH....
Almost clipped nearly every time me or the wife drive it...

That sucks!

WTF do we pay the outrageous premiums for to get shat on anyway?

I am sorry.
