Hi,

I have a Marlin .35 that my dad purchased around 1977. I have seen other people listing them for sale with dates they were manufactured. Does anyone know how to determine when exactly it was manufactured?

I have a 1977 made 336 in 35 rem. first two numbers are 23 just as the link above says it would be. Under rated woods thumper, enjoy that rifle

It's a great gun! You can't beat it when hunting in close cover. I checked mine against the Marlin Firearms Collector's Association List that was linked. The first two digits in the serial number are 25 so it was made in 1975. It's good to know.

I checked and mine was made in 1980. My dad was an OS&D clerk for a trucking company and he got a deal on a several cases of mixed ammo, which had over 20 boxes of .35 Remington. He didn't have anything chambered in that round, so I found the used rifle for him at the old Colias Lawing in Charlotte. I believe it was around $275 in the late '80's or early '90's.

My old .35 dropped a deer at a just over 250 yards this year.
Excellent caliber.

That's pretty dang great. My 1973 336 .35 is my only scoped lever. I keep it sighted to hit 2" high at 135 yards. Never even tried 250. What do you suppose the drop would be for 200gr CoreLokt at 250?

That is a beautiful thing.
Mine is sighted a little high at 100.
I aimed about 3/4’s up on the lungs hit the lower quadrant. I’m guessing 7 inches or so.
My bullet is a 200 grain Hornady ftx.

Have any 35 ammo that you would like to sell?
