That englishter, and some others here have to learn how to do it right.
I'm pretty sure it was underhanded sneaky insurgent tactics actually.
I'm from Indiana so we ate miracle whip. I am not a fan of dukes or any brand of mayo. It's all about personal preference my friend.
What the heck is up with this:

I'm seeing that generic IMG thing way too often lately.
German Johnston maters for me.
Sunbeam Queen bread.
Duke's Mayo on both sides of the bread
Salt & Pepper.
Eaten over the sink or over the deck railing.
Thanks.
You forgot the fatback to go along with the mater biscuit.
Ah, well, growing up on our farm, I can't remember not having fatback with a mater biscuit.
Musta killed a big hog that year.
You're the one putting mayo in there. A cheddar and tomato sandwich is about the best thing ever. Especially with a dash of Branston.
Me and my Pops used to go to the garden (big garden) with a pocket knife and a salt shaker.
I was just starting to like you given my British roots, but you have crossed the line here. You'll get one more chance Brit!
This gal knows a thing or two about eating a mater sandwich.
Another thing equally as good as a mater sandwich is a mater biscuit. The mater biscuit was a big hit in the mountains. A good mater on a leftover biscuit with some salt and pepper, didn't even need mayo for a mater biscuit.
I've never eaten a slice of tomato on a biscuit, but I'd imagine it is good and similar in taste to tomato gravy. I grew up eating tomato gravy, still love it to this day.

This whole thread makes me gag. How anyone can eat a tomato sandwich is beyond me.

Honestly I used to hate tomatoes. Not on a burger, sandwich, salad, anything. I didn't mind them cooked though, like in spaghetti or tomato gravy. Only in the past 5-6 years have developed a taste for them.
That's funny, because I don't care for the little ones at all.I can only eat cherry or grape tomatoes. I don't know why the the big ones literally make me gag. It wasn't until I was in boot camp and REALLY hungry that I started eating the small ones because they came in the crappy box chow they gave us.
Mustard biscuitsSlice of onion and Dukes mayo on a biscuit.
Just Dukes on a biscuit.
Can you tell that I love Dukes mayo?

Tenderloin biscuit with a slice of tomato on it is good.

I like fresh slice maters with breakfast, mater sammich for lunch, and maters at supper time. Can I get an Amen?
Lunch this afternoon...
Some kind of dark purple heirloom mater, Duke's mayo, & Sunbeam Queen bread.
Yes, dripping over the railing.
Walmart has Blue Plate, very similar to Dukes. This might be a sin but...... I've never tried Blue Plate mayonnaise before... never even heard about it till this thread. I've had Hellmen's and Duke's and even most box store brand mayo. Found some B-P mayo and going to give it a try tonight.
I'll let ya know how it compares....

I think you'll be hard pressed to tell them apart.
A proper mater sammich needs the bacon ! Not enough bacon in this thread !
