Hudson disappeared in a puff of smoke?

Sorry to hear this. I planned on buying one someday. Almost did when AIM blew them out for $799 several months ago. Wonder what will happen to prices on them now?

It's a great shooter... Odd gun. Hope someone's mag springs work in it for those who own them.

I made a ton of holsters for them. But as to the form, IMO they were worse than a damned Block. I could mill a 2x4 down to use to form them. They have no beauty like 1911’s & revolvers.

From what I understand it is the same story told a million times. Company has a great product after spending millions in design. Company hires great people to oversee all aspects of the production and sale of the excellent product.

Oweners of the company start spending the money hand over fist as it starts to roll in on themselves assuming that they will never have hard times again.

Said excellent employees get asked to take massive pay cuts and then go a couple of months with no paycheck at all while owners still living high off that old hog.

Employees see the writing on the wall and bail. Company goes under.

Sad because they really had developed something that could have made the long haul.
Can you say....Dournas&Dixon?

Its sad to see the negative responses.

Its the most advanced pistol system since, well never. But it was a idea, and i support a persons willingness to put it out in the market.

The Trump slump killed this pistol. Since the average gun owner is not reading NRA crap in ones mail box, then not afraid of the .gov coming for ones guns, money goes to other stuff like paying off 8 years of CC gun debit.

I think Hudson killed their own pistol. It was a new kid on the block, unproven design, looked funny, and was introduced with a +$1000 price tag. Chiappa came out with the Rhino revolver. It was a new kid on the block, unproven design, looked funny, and was introduced with a pretty hefty price tag. That was 10 years ago and they are still in business. Bad management has put a lot of companies out of business.

Agree fully.

Cost is a direct relation to lack of manufacturing contractors in the supply system. I am not 100% on the Hudson back channel, but i get how this happens.

Been part of a similar story a few years ago myself.

I had no interest in this gun for 2 reasons, high price and it’s real ugly.

Sad to see them go belly up already though. Hopefully they can pull it out of the sh*tter.

Just checked GunBroker. There a number of H9s like new/new for under $800 listed. Mags are still affordable, too. I may pony up and buy one.

Not good. They filed Chapter 7. That’s liquidation.

Last week, I could have ordered H9s for $699 shipped apiece from one of my distributors. Today, I looked and they are over $900 wholesale.

I almost bought one last week. I'm not sure if I am happy or sad that I didn't.

happy....think about parts, magazines, etc.

They weren't around long enough or sold enough to justify a strong aftermarket.

Exactly, although they were running a sale on mags, too. Had I bought the pistol, I would have bought several extra mags, too. But, parts...especially knowing how some of the guns wound up having problems that now won't be fixed under warranty.

I just read every post in this thread, and they all made me want to buy one. I think they look good. If i could find a good deal on one, I'd but it right now, just for the collectability factor.

Well, it would appear Grabagun has a distributor who is dumping them. LOL. Grabagun mostly sells stuff that is drop-shipped. Also, they are selling the gun with one mag. They typically come with 3. Add in $60 for the two missing mags and you are close to what my distributor had them listed at.

Interestingly, the distributor to which I referred has evidently sold a boatload of them at the new, higher price. I checked their inventory today and they are almost gone.

I might order one from Grabagun and then order some mags from my distributor. I'll come out cheaper that way.

Just went to order one and they are charging NC sales tax, as well. Puts these higher than my distributor's sale price last week.

Also, just checked and the distributor is out of stock on mags. Grrr... Should have ordered last week, I guess.

Well, I took the plunge. Ordered the gun on Grabagun and ordered mags from a dealer on Gunbroker.
You and I are now in the same boat... I said, the other day, that iIwould buy one if I saw a good deal on it. Well, this deal looked pretty good.

I didn't order any additional mags from grab a gun because they were so expensive. Would you share a website or store that I could order two extra mags from? Or could I buy a couple from you?

I ordered three guns and 15 mags. I'll sell two of the guns and enough of the mags that the guns have 3 apiece, as they should, keeping 10 or so mags for me. I really like having at least 10 factory mags per semi-auto I own. Hopefully the guns come in the correct black box. I figure worst case scenario is that I'll break even. Hopefully the gun I keep doesn't have any of the issues I've read that some of the guns have had. I really enjoyed shooting @Chdamn 's gun when I got the chance.

I'm going to throw mine right in the safe and forget about it. In ten years, If it's a collector's item then I'll sell it. If it's worthless then I'll shoot the snot out of it till it breaks... Haha

I might wind up with one to shoot and two to put in the safe for ten years. LOL

@gunbelt

Are you watching this thread? I see you commented on it a few months ago. You got anymore of those Hudson holsters that you made?

The H9s just went on clearance at GrabaGun. I bought one. @cubrock bought 3... We might need some awesome holsters...

Y'all still have Studebakers for every day drivers also? I just don't get this whole H9 thing. Really to me reeks of a crowdfunding gone wrong.

I think I have an old Bultaco motorcycle repair manual around somewhere if anyone is interested
