Make that three lolHa! Another one. People don't believe me when I tell them I took Hunter Safety as a credit course in seventh grade.
Why in the world do you have to have a hunting license for Coyotes ?
I saw a story of a very sad accident in Alexander county and the WLO stated that you must have a Hunting License.
A course, a license and permission from the state.Supposedly safety........ I don't necessarily think you should need a valid license, but everyone should at least go through the hunters safety course that is required before getting your license. It honestly probably doesn't make a difference (if you're going to be stupid... you probably will be stupid with or without going through a safety course). I hate reading the news during deer season when a hunter shoots a person instead of a deer.... there's no excuse for it.

I still feel if I wasn’t for the vast amount of dollars involved this state could give a “scat” about the animals, especially the deer.Because apparently some folks need to be taught not to shoot things they can't ID.
My youngest daughter took hunter safety at 4H summer camp. It was a 4 day camp. Most of their class was "don't shoot something you can't ID" and "don't climb a tree stand without a harness." And to be honest, that's the 2 most common injuries in the woods. So you can gripe all you want, hunter safety requirements came about because of hunters getting hurt or killed and seasons/fees came about because animals were nearly hunted to extinction. Bitch about the license, but I bet you would bitch if the herd was a small as it was just 20 years ago too. We hunted elk out of NC and nearly hunted turkeys and deer out before SPORTSMAN started demanding seasons and restrictions to protect what was left.
Add me to that list. Took it in 1980. I email the state about it 2 years ago ant they still had the data, and sent me a new card, lol
How do you think things are paid for?? License fees..... Don't want to buy a license, don't go hunting...
I don’t and I do.How do you think things are paid for?? License fees..... Don't want to buy a license, don't go hunting...
Are we talking about coyotes or deer?
Most of the time when there is a non-native invasive species as the coyote is people are paid to eradicate them. They don't pay for the privilege to eradicate them.
That is what the OP is getting at.
Then the same needs to be applied when dealing with the second amendment. We really do need to have “common sense” gun control because people can’t be trusted to do the right thing.Both. I'm pretty confident saying the license is necessary for coyotes so that they can make sure the hunter safety class has been attended. You know, the one where they tell you not to shoot at things you can't see.
Bounties on coyotes don't work. Their reproduction is based on population size in relation to prey population. The more you kill the more they breed if there is a suitable prey population.
I'm also say we have wildlife commissions at both the request of sportsmen in the past and because the resources were abused. As much as folks want to think people will always do the right things, the past really doesn't always look that way.
