I am changing out a 7.5" barrel for a 10.5" barrel and had to order a new handguard. So, I ordered a 10" handguard thinking that I would have enough room for a QD adapter. Well, I did not, I need 1" and not a half of an inch.
I did the same thing when I changed the barrel on the AR-9. For now, I am going with the direct thread can.
