In the swamp, I usually carry the Smith 629 in a Kenai Chest holster orGalco leather rig, two speedloaders and a Smith Airweight J Frame of some sort. I am good with a speedloader but 0% chance that I can get more rounds quickly and on target than with the Glock 40. Of course, as a practical matter, if I need to unload more than 6 rounds of .44 Mag and reload on an emergent basis in the woods...I am already toast. The revolver makes me feel safe and happy. The Glock makes me feel very safe. It's about 50/50.

My usual daily carry is some version of a 5 or 6 shot snub in .38 or, less often, a semi-auto with 7-10 9mm. Not too hung up on laying down a lot of lead most of the time. That said, all along in the Everglades or Alligator River it is comforting to have a lot on tap.

Made it to the range today to burn through some metric ammo in my collection of blocks, er Glocks....

Fired a variety of 180 gr FMJ in addition to some 165gr gold dots and 200 gr hardcast loaded by Underwood. Sighted the RMR on the G40 in for 50 yds even though I'll likely never shoot it that far in the woods. 3 rounds I'm pointing to are the last group and where I left it. After that point I was hitting 8" steel at that range with boring consistency. Significantly better than I was doing with the G20 with only the irons. For comparisons sake I brought along a 4" Gp100 and 158 gr Federal JSPs. The 10mm was more pleasant to shoot even with the Underwood ammo.

Also broke in the G19x and G17. Orange B17 is the 19x running drills from an OWB paddle holster. Range varied from 3 to 10 yds and included point shooting, failure to stop drills and shooting while moving. I think it'll work.
 
Dang dude, you 'bout went all in with the Austrian Tupperware. Told you that G40 was a nice shooter 🙃

That 34 with the Zev slide is lighter than the 19x. I've been carrying it the last couple days in one of my OWB pancakes and it's very nice. I think it's officially in the carry rotation.

No they are not. But very manageable in both the 20 and 40. Those three holes I'm pointing to up thread were underwood 165. The 200s were almost identical POA at that range but the group opened up a bit.
 
I am really wanting to put together a G20/G40 RMR, debating a P80/PF45 but havent gone further than a plan in my head. And, you're not helping with these pictures...... Have a few projects I want to do first, but the 10 is climbing the list quickly.

So, reading this again a G20/40 with RMR just moved to notch #3 from like #7 or #8. Bad influence you are, and my wallet doesn't like you, but I'm ok with that.

My wallet doesn't like me either. I started this thread 2 months ago and at the time had purchased ONE Glock. I now own 5.....

I'm still finishing up my G26 "build" then an AR build, but I have been thinking a 10 for a while, but kept putting it off. Almost like if I don't get to it soon I'm going to keep putting it off. Been thinking about a P80/PF45 but slides are unobtainium from what I have seen, or cost more than a gun does
 
You keep buyin' that stuff Brother.................keeps you out of the market for the old school wood, steel and that little round thingy that bullets go in!

There is an old saying about those ugly plastic pistols. Not sure of the validity but worth sharing. " Once you go Glock, you'll never go bock. "

Extra is sitting here on the porch drinking Bulleit Single Barrel with a G43XMOS IWB appendix and a G48 strong side OWB with a Shield Arms 15+5 owb weakside as well. Yeah it's pretty extra....lol

And I'm just sittin' here slummin with a Whistle Pig 15yr and a SW .38/44 Heavy Duty in an old rickety leather holster..........I'm defenseless I gather..........please forum, save me!!!!

My carry evolution....

My daily carry is now the G43xMOS OWB with a 20rd shield mag as a spare.

Sometimes the 43 is added appendix with a spare mag in the weakside pocket.

With my usual two blades, light, and trusty TFLG wallet.

Then the HPG rig that goes with me in the car has the G48 and extra mags and sundries in it.

Very nice rig. Been thinking of getting the 43X. Do you run Glock or shield mags for EDC.
