Picked this up yesterday in a trade for a Sig 229 DAK .40 CG pistol I dot at a very reasonable price and found I hated the DAK trigger. Original plan was to see if the wife liked it but sadly I have fallen in love. I don't lnow how collectable the Agent model is but folks seem to like them. It does have some holster wear which is fine as I plan to shoot it and use it as my Sunday pistol. That said if some one has to have a Colt snubby I am entertaining offers before I grow too attached. Sorry for crap pictures. It is prettier in real life.

She's a purty little thang!

Most of the Agent models I see have the flat matte finish. I like the finish on yours! I got a pending deal on one similar to yours...gonna be a couple weeks out though.

If you entertain the thought of letting it go and you do, you'll regret it.

I still regret letting one slip away 30 years ago.

That is for sure...not many around these parts these days. Forum member Prosecutor has hoarded'em all up o_O

I know and everybosy I know has told me the same thing. The more longer I have it the more I like it. I am actually happy it has some holster wear so I don't feel to bad about occasionally shooting it. Dammit now to buy a suitable holster for dress wear.

The one I let slip away was new. Matte finnish.

Several years ago I bought a first generation Agent. Paid $200. The forumu member told me not to be disappointed as it was beat to hell and rusty. I got it and it was just as he stated. It still had a great trigger but looked like a dog. You could it was pocket carried forever. I wish that old gun could talk. It would have some stories to tell.

She's a beauty. I've got a blued Cobra that I pocket carry occasionally and shoot at least once a month.

Nice score 101! Here's a beater 1958 Dick Special that I picked up last week. No problems carrying this one, pocket or otherwise!

Thats nice. I have to admit I first read the post a Dick Beater special. Any advice on carry loads? I know that +P stuff is a no go but I would like to carry/punch paper occasionally.

Well, I did get a good deal on it! I like the Hornaday Critical Defense 110 gr. (thought they were 115's). They're not +P if I remember correctly and they seem to shoot fine out of my J frames and the old Colt. I'd have liked the finish to have been better as nice as your Agent but I can throw this one in the truck seat and not worry at all what it hits or where it lands. Maybe I'll Cerakote it or something.....

you did good... thats a purdy one... they seem to be going from $500 to $750... that looks like a later model agent with the shrouded ejector...

edit: this for general info, from THR

The Colt Detective is the all steel blue verson 2 inch barrel

The Colt Cobra is the same but with a Alloy Frame 2 inch barrel

The Colt Agent is the same (alloy frame)as the as the Cobra but with a cut down grip area for more concealment 2 inch barrel

Also the Colt Diamondback is the same blue steel frame as the Detective but with a 4 or 6 inch barrel

Quick Update. I have not started carrying the Agent but it is a joy to shoot with cheap ball ammo. I will say this is the first snub nose I have shot well without practice. I cant get over how nice the DA is on it. The only complaint is I am not used to pushing the cylinder release backwards as I have allways had S&W revolvers.

No, you did more than good! Excellent find, those Agents & DSs are getting more and more rare!!

I found a new home for the Agent. My father has allways liked nice revolvers and since his accident has a bit of trouble racking the slide of a semi automatic so the pistol is with him. I have given him a few guns but this is the first time I have been able to get him something that is nice/classic that he really appreciates. Really a drop in the bucket for all he has given me ( I cna also shoot/borrow it when ever--they live 1/4 mile from me).
